I would like to raise my hand to say that last week, we watched Colin Farrell as vamp in Fright Night. And not because he allegedly has the h.rpes, but I find Farrell relatively repulsive. But he was hot as a vampire, but not as hot as Mooney.

Ok, here goes. I’ve only made NOTES for up until about the 20 min mark. Will have to rewatch and finish tomorrow.
1. Mick says seeing Joesiff honoured as an upstanding citizen was worth putting on a monkey suit for. And it had fringe benefits, spending time with Beth. So whyTH are they standing so far apart from each other??
2. Joesiff: ‘Prom wasn’t big in the 1700s, neither was high school. Plague, the Plague was big’. He had some great lines, as usual.
3. Joesiff likes Beth’s dress…’Valentino?’ he asks. This firms my theory from last episode with the couches, that Joesiff might just be a little bit g@y
4. Hello Aussie! Anthony LaPaglia’s brother, Jonathon, is Jackson Monaghan. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him in an Oz show, ever.
5. Simone…I like her. At first I thought she was just going to be another Freshie. But I like her, I really do. If Joesiff wasn’t able to bring Sarah around, I would have liked to see him end up with Simone. F U CBS!!
6. When Beth tells Mick and Joesiff that DA dude thinks Simone and Dominic were sleeping together, I LOVE Mick’s facial expressions when he’s looking at Joesiff. Poor Joesiff…he does seem a little put out at the thought of Simone and Dominic. Despite his RULES.
7. When Emma was explaining how she met Jackson, and how he felt like home. I like the way Beth says ‘he makes you feel safe’. Just like Mick makes her feel.
8. Emma and Beth discussing Dominic and Hank’s relationship…Emma says ‘there was a lot of bad blood there’. LOL
9. Guillermo! And the way he so gently and carefully ties Dominic’s toe tag with a bow.
10. I had to rewatch the whole blood sucking scene in Mick’s apartment. OMGOMGOMG! The closing of the eyes and that subtle sniff from Mick when Joesiff chowed down on Simone’s wrist. And then, and THEN….Mick drinking from her also. That was pretty hot and if that’s what threesomes are like, count me in!
11. OHNO! (<<<see what I did there, Ess? For you ) Beth just walked in! (Doesn’t anybody knock anymore?) When I first started watching Moonlight, I thought Sophia Myles was a crappy actress, but she nailed that look when she found the three of them. Mick looks like a naughty little boy getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I like how, despite knowing Beth was there, he found it very difficult to pull away from Simone. This whole scene was so sexy and I like the way it depicts the whole cheating aspect, because to me, the vamps drinking from humans seems so very intimate. Even though we know Mick doesn’t see what he’s doing as cheating, it feels like that to Beth. ACAxBL, Beth! Mick looks soooooo sheepish. Love where he tells her he was just checking that the blood found on Dominic wasn’t Simone’s, and Beth says ‘they have LABORATORIES for that’. Hey, Mick…you and Beth are fighting – you have a HUMAN relationship after all!
12. At the frat house…the way Mick says ‘we were not *making* out. I only wanna make out with you’. WhereTF have my panties gone??? I loved this whole scene. His facial expressions when they’re arguing are priceless. A typical male confused by a typical female argument. Yep, Mick…welcome to relationship heaven.
13. Still at the frat house…why does Mick suddenly remind me of someone’s father? He seems so ‘mature’ talking to the younger guy. Sacred Ass Paddle/Karma…hahahahaaaaa.
14. Mick talking to Jackson about Lisa, the cheerleader. Jackson says he met her in 1923, she was a flapper then.
15. HOW CUTE is Mick when he’s shooting hoops? This scene was a double cheese, cheese stuffed crust with extra cheese. With a side of cheese. Yet I loved it. McG could have used some of Mick’s mad basketball skillz. Loved the scene, loved Mick’s expressions, H.A.T.E.D the shirt.
16. Mick: So how long have you been in college?
Lisa: 40 years or so. It's the perfect life for a vamp. Nobody notices when you sleep all day. And there's a constant rotation of Frat Boys too drunk to notice when a hickey's not a hickey.
Mick: No one notices the puncture wounds in the neck?
Lisa: That's not the artery I go for.
Mick: Oh.
Something tells me Lisa is still a flapper, and I know what she’s flapping.
1) OMG – I know!! That’s exactly what I was thinking! If he was my date, I’d totes be right next to him, sniffing HIM for a change.
3) On True Blood, there is a bisexual theme running amongst the vamp nation, so it’s entirely possible that Joesiff has done some experimenting in his many, many years.

18. Mick and Joesiff in Mick’s apartment…Mick saying to Joesiff that Simone likes him. “Who wouldn’t like me?’ Then he whirls around and asks ‘She said that?’ Joesiff is so cute here. Like a teenager. Loving the hard time Mick is giving Joesiff about his feelings for a human. Then they discuss how Simone suggested to Joesiff that she might like being a vampire. Season 2 of Moonlight would see Joesiff turning Simone, then finding a cure for Sarah Whitley, leaving Joesiff TORN between his two girls. F U CBS!
19. Beth’s in a snit because Mick didn’t invite her to his little cocktail party for the Vamp Grand Jury. Mick, after outling the breakout plan for Emma ‘Any questions?’ Logan: ‘Can my code name be Lando Calrissian? ‘ OMG, larfing! Love the looks on everyone’s faces and that little cough (from the Cleaner?) said it all.
20. Plan A failed! There is no Plan B! Leeeeeroy Jenkins to the rescue! I love Logan!
21. OMG…I thought they planned to save Emma by breaking her out. This whole scene reminds me of the epi with the Charles Manson type killer, the one whose state-sanctioned execution Beth witnessed. I guess vamps aren’t that different to humans after all. This scene is kinda cheesy too. Soooo dramatic! And now Jackson is joining her in the fiery flames because he can’t live without her. Jackson is THE MAN. Not so much cheese now, I actually feel very emotional for them. And they didn’t even get a last meal.
22. DA dude receives a list of vampire names, though he doesn’t know what the list means. I paused a few times, and noticed that some of the names were repeated several times. So what looked like a big list of vamps may not be so big after all. I saw Coraline, Guillermo, Donovan Shepherd (oh, he was the Charles Manson type killer!) Pierce Anders (the plastic surgeon). Those who were dead had been crossed through. Coraline’s name was still intact. And right at the end, three names…Logan, Joesiff and Mick. Aaaarrgh! In my Season 2, DA dude would really be a Vampire Hunter, meaning Mick would have to stay one step ahead of him all the time. F U CBS!
23. Mick is at Beth’s apartment, explaining what happened to Emma and Jackson. Beth seems genuinely upset that Vampires Dispensed Vampire Justice and executed them both. Didn’t she have a front row seat at Donovan Shepherd’s execution?
24. This whole scene with Beth telling Mick that she can’t be with him…I’m trying to think of something to say, but I can’t. I just can’t. Because AOL is acting the sh.t out of this scene with ONLY HIS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!!!!!! And then when he leans his head against the wall. I have no words.
Mick is knocking on Beth’s door. Open the FKN door, Beth! Then he just comes in. Thank God he remembered what Beth was wearing the night they first met again. Thank. God. Because what if he hadn’t remembered??? How would this scene have ended??

I read somewhere that the scripts for S2 that were already written, included Werewolves that were hunting the Vamps and that it’s them that send Talbot the list. And that Coraline and her clan would come back to help save the day. Not sure about the truth of it all!
FOYeur: This is so interesting. Way back when, I read somewhere that there were 6 additional episodes written, but I never knew what they were about. I could never figure out who sent Talbot the list, so this storyline does fill in a lot of gaps. Very interesting & I too, wonder if it’s true. D@mn CBS!! D@mn writers strike! McMo

ACA!! I especially like that he was sucking blood from a bloodsucking lawyer. I liked Simone, I could see her and Beth becoming friends and discussing Mick and Joesiff behind their backs, for our benefit.

I loved it when he said to Guillermo “you’ve blocked out all memories of what human women are like”. Because knowing What Human Women Are Like is really helping you to understand What Human Women Want, isn’t it Mick?

I loved Joesiff being all insecure as well. I especially loved it when he said ‘I have commitment issues’ and Mick said ‘Me too’, because if there’s one issue Mick DOESN’T have, it’s commitment. Unless he means ‘I’m desparate to commit but it’s just not happening’. He’s the guy who ticks all the boxes but you end up dumping him anyway because he’s just too keen to get serious and it Creeps.You.Out.

I love that they got Logan out of the basement! And the Cleaner and her girls reminded me of the Hot Chicks from “Dude, Where’s My Car?”. I think it was the hair.

ACA2I&B. He’d waited so patiently to have a chance with Beth, and then just when it looked like it was going to happen, he thought he was going to lose it again. Mick always struck me as having a bit of a martyr complex about the hand that life had dealt him (which sometimes made me lose patience with him a bit) and it was good to see him decide that he wasn’t going to just accept it, that he was going to fight for what he wanted. And he got it. (I want to know what else he ended up getting but, oh – we’ll never know BECAUSE CBS ARE KOALAS.)

I kinda saw their completion of the execution was also to send a message to the vamp community. This is seeeeerious business this vampire thing. I was surprised the first time I saw it…but I get it. In the end, I hate to say it but I agree it probably needed to be done. You know, in TV show land.

Then I read (thanks FOYeur) that a storyline included in the 6 pre-written scripts for Season 2 (which reminds me…FU CBS) involved Werewolfs that were coming to hunt down the LA vampires and they sent the list. Makes sense and sounds really interesting & exciting too. (D@mn you CBS.) McMo
If those scripts exist, we have to find them. Really. Because werewolves? Seriously?? I sure hope not. That means that Moonlight really was just following the plot of the Twilight novels. Which would not have been a good long term strategy. In my opinion only. And I say that as someone who…. full disclosure here… has read all 4 Twilight novels.

ACA Infant that 4th Twilight novel was probably the dumbest book I’ve ever read in my life. The first one wasn’t great but at least stuff happened. It was all steeply downhill from there.

After I watched the last ep of ML … and had to take a break from everything because of MY FEELINGS, lines of this poem kept popping up in my mind– it took me awhile to figure out where it was all coming from, but once I did…. *sigh*
I just think the poem SO PERFECTLY encapsulates that moment between Mick & Beth, their fears & their courage… the decision to stay together even though … she’s gonna get old & die & he’s not.
Not that that is how I think the show would have ended, Show would have had a 100% happy ending given the chance.
But in that final ep 16 moment, the only realistic future I can imagine for Mick & Beth is an ultimately sad one. At least, my subconscious went right for the emo poetry. (cue more crying) So Bittersweet!!!! I Love it!!!

JOSEF was the one to turn away (SHOCK!!) which I think is a clear indication how much he’s fallen for Simone. And then Mick saying that they do need to watch it. That was pretty powerful in my opinion. Like yeah, we need to be reminded, no matter how hard it is to watch, what the reality of our life is. How real it is to maintain secrecy.

We were really starting to see a whole other side to Josef. At this moment in time I am going to ignore the fact that CBS stood by Alex and cast him on H50 and say fk u CBS for cancelling this show just when you started developing some really interesting character arcs.
But also thank you for not totally screwing us over and inadvertedly ending the series with Mick and Beth in a fight.
Ess, there were numerous moments in this episode when in my head popped you in your southern accent going “HIS FACCCCCEEEEEE”
Ha ha! Maha is putting up 2.15 recap which is awesome (and Maha is soooooooo preeeeeeeettttttttttyyyyyyyyyy) but I don’t want MOONLIGHT to end so I’m posting here now! Ha ha!
18 & 21 – I really liked Simone. She was real, down to earth, (her whole convo with Beth when she was a suspect, plus the, “we should leave…” after the Unfortunate Not A Feeding Incident) she’s obviously swept up by the romanticism of being a vampire’s freshy but still trying to “maintain.” She was not dramatically beautiful like the vampire women tended to be, but normal & human looking anway, I liked her & hoped she would have stuck around had SHOW stuck around.
24. I’ve said it before but And then when he leans his head against the wall. I have no words. is exactly what and how I felt… that first time Mick’s head smacks the wall it was just like a JOLT of feeling that went through me. Talk about believing he was actually crying out of frustration. I mean. Wow. So amazing, bought, sold & paid for, signed, sealed, delivered, All Of The Above. Amazing powerful scene with which to end the series.
It may have been raining on my face during the head/wall scene. While I was yelling at Mick to get back in there! Especially the first time I watched when I didn’t know what was coming next and had lost all track of time and didn’t realize how much was left of the episode.
Fkn CBS. I wanted more. Still do.
I guess the best I can say is, if it had to end, it ended on the best possible note it could.

I know I have not earned my stripes as a Mooney yet, mainly because a came in a bit late. I myself see me as one of the worst Moonies of all time, because I got my DVD’s on a Tuesday and by that Sunday I had already watched the whole series twice. Since then and because I don’t have a life, I have watched it most probably a lot more than 10 times already (in the last 5 months)!
I have been reading all your comments on it and intend to write a brief overview about the whole series as I see it. Hope you’ll find it in your Big MOONEY Hearts to also grant me full MOONEY status after that!

I don’t think anyone here has been really critical or sardonic either. I admit when Grace and I first talked about this and people wanted to join in, i was afraid that it would turn into something not ‘fun’. (read the first ML page and you will see the show sardonic a lot more) But I have been over the moon(light) that everyone really took to the show and lol’d light heartedly at the parts that are meant to be campy & cheesy and really, really grabbed on to the parts that are so beautifully written and superbly acted. I have been very moved by this whole experience and on this, my 3rd MooneyWatch, I never thought I would fall in love with show to the level i have. Part of it has been the people I’ve shared it with.

My random thoughts on ep #16:
- I was and will always be puzzled on how Josef has been able to get away with being so high profile in the community over the years. Later in the ep, Mick says that Josef has been sitting courtside at Lakers games since Wilt Chamberlain. There is just no way that his agelessness wouldn’t be compromised. Yes, I know it’s a show, but they have spent enough time explaining how important it is for vamps to stay secret – Show kind of screwed the pooch on this point.
- Beth and Josef have cute chemistry. If CBS hadn’t been a bunch of Subways and cancelled the show, I wonder if Beth would have gotten herself into a Josh-like sitch where a decision would have to be made to turn or not to turn her. I think that Josef would end up turning her because Mick wouldn’t be able to bring himself to do it.
- Josef’s snark is just too much fun. I want him for my besty. He drinks from Simone on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He can drink from me on Mondays and Wednesdays. The long weekend is reserved for Mick.
- What’s with Beth getting all judgmental about Mick and past freshies? Hello, have you two met? He’s a VAMPIRE!
- Love. Love. Love this song. Gavin Rossdale is the hotness and I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. The fact that it is featured in this show is a bonus.
- It might be me, but AOL seemed the most relaxed in this ep and Mick’s tone seemed different overall. Perhaps it’s because it was the last ep?
- Beth: “not the only bodily fluid they’re exchanging” I didn’t think that there was such a thing as Vamp!Sperm.
- Did I just see some Mick tongue? Screengrab please!! Anyone? Anyone? That scene was ridiculously asdfjklasdfkl.

ML vamps usually moved often to avoid detection (except for Mick) & Josef did live in different parts of the US, but once he settled in LA he put himself in the public eye for years & never aged. Definitely not realistic.
- “Is this a new Cleaner?” Yes. I don’t know why they used 3 different women to play the 3 “Cleaners.” Finding 3 women to not only fit in those cat-suits, but look good while in them, must have been a b.tch.

Yes, chopping would work, but the flamethrower was much more dramatic. Plus, I think “The Cleaner” picked the weapon of choice because guess who would have to haul all the body parts away & tidy up afterwards? Yep.
- “What was the point of the list? Did CBS think the show would come back?” I could never figure out who sent the list to the DA. I think they were going forward with a totally new storyline under the assumption the show would be renewed, but had no idea at the time if it would be.

So now I am going to talk about “what might have happened and what I think would have been.” M would never give his blessing to turning B. No matter what, I honestly believe that. If B & J went behind his back — well, it would be a SRS SRS PROBLEM. I really don’t think Beth ends up as a Vampire for all eternity, dudes.
Atfer I watched ML the first time I made up my own version of how ML was to end and it involved Mick finding Coraline, in turn more of the cure, then he became human and he and Beth lived happily ever after.
Hi Infant. I am sure you are right about that. That is how the series would have ended. Either that or they are just star-crossed lovers. Mick dies. Or Beth gets old & dies & Mick never finds the cure. Romeo & Juliet or something along those lines. But I think, for CBS? Mick finds the cure. M&B get married. Beth gets preggers. Series over in the spring of 2011. In this universe I’ve just created, Moonlight is wrapping up THIS MAY.
I remember when I told Sheila my ending she was amazed that I didn’t go with the emo option of everyone dies. The End.

2) “The plague, the plague was big.” My favorite Josef comeback line. It reminded me, yet again, how I wanted to hear the stories of his 400 years; his life in Europe, how he was turned, his wild adventures with Lola, his nights with Garbo, meeting Mick, amassing his fortune, the historical figures he met along the way. Like everyone else, I would have loved to **** Mick for days on end, but I would have also loved to hold marathon chatfests with Josef.
3) “Valentino?” I don’t believe Josef was gay (although in 400 years I’m sure he tested many waters.) I’m thinking he just knew fashion & their designers….personally.
4) Jackson’s character was played by A. LaPaglia’s brother?? I learned something new. Wow, they actually do look alike.
10) “The whole blood sucking scene in Mick’s apt.” ACA! Hot! AND FINALLY, thank you Alex, because after years of endlessly teasing us with that amazing tongue of yours, you finally give us a freakin demonstration of what we’re all never going to experience. D@mn you anyway. Granted, this scene is awesome, but it still comes in second to my all time personal favorite #1 Hottest ML scene evah – Josef re-turning Mick in Ep 13. (I’m still not over that!)
12) “The frat house.” “I only wanna make out with you.” My girly parts melted too & like Spurschick, I want this as my “ringtone” to play for all eternity, ah..I mean until my doom. “I got hit with the sacred a$$ paddle.” Priceless.
Yep, they were fighting just like real human couples, only I would have been a bit less crotchety if I were Beth. Most significant others don’t have the capacity or latent desire to rip out your arteries for a snack.

I couldn’t make too many notes. I was too sad. Truth…
1. I love the name of the Basketball team was Rough Riders. I dunno, this struck me funny.
2. Mick said “monkey suit”, he says this in H50 too. Is this another Alex-ism?

4. I get that Beth was schocked when she walked in on Mick doing his taste testing but please. He’s a vamp and the man has protected you for how many years? He’s saved your life how many times and you KNOW how much he cares for you…. so you’re going to give him the b/tch eye over this?? 3rd time in, as in every otehr watching, I am all at once in love with the scene yet hate it too because of the way Beth makes Mick feel like he did something wrong. He had already told her that feeding on Freshies was not intimate to him. She was totally giving him the 3rd degree and forcing him to say things that he didn’t want to say. (just like a real woman..heh)

Re. Beth being shocked about the HOTTEST SCENE EVER WITH THE TONGUE: Beth has just learned what a freshie is. She’s still sorting out the whole human/vamp relationship thing. She knows that she felt intimacy when Mick fed on her in the desert. Mick’s told her that vamps and humans have feeding relationships (not to be confused with FEED) and that what goes along with that depends on the relationship. Beth saw Sophia’s face when the boys were feeding on her, she looked like she was having a very good time. It’s been implied several times that biting is a part of vamps*x (not that we got to see any damn you CBS). Mick had his lips on Sophia. Lip connections are intimate for humans. Mick’s lips are damns*xyhot… wait, where was I going? Oh, right, I think Beth’s reaction to the situation was valid. Mick has not done a very good job of ‘splaining things. Plus, I enjoyed the sacred a*s paddle/karma line that followed.

So much to learn in such a short amount of time… and Simone seemed so cool & ok with everything, she didn’t seem to have Beth’s hang-ups so I can see how Beth felt a little like things were just out of control… or who knows maybe she had low blood sugar or something.
Here are my totes lames notes because well I forgot to make many really…
1. “There are fringe benefits, like spending the evening with Beth.” Ugh you two are so special. You could spend more time with each other if you COMMUNICATE. I <3 you, you socially stunted vampire.
2. Mick: "I only want to make out with you." Dork! Yes and Beth has a diary and she writes all over it Mrs St. John.
3. I some times think I would have liked to be in a sorority (we don't have that sort of thing here) and then I remembered I'd have to live in a house with a bunch of girls and this thought scares me.
4. Mick playing basketball made me laugh. I don't think Alex can play basketball. I am lactose intolerant. I therefore felt sick.
5. David Blue, you're so ace in this show. Please wind up on H50 and I'll forgive you for being involved in that mess of a show Stargate Universe.
Okay, here goes my summary of why I totally love Moonlight:
The short version – Alex O’Loughlin.
The Medium version – Alex’s wonderful, heartwarming and real portrayal of Vampire Mick St. John (He WAS Mick!!).
The longer version:
1) The whole setup of the story was well thought through – done in an ‘old school’ fashion, like most of you called it “Noir”, To me the genre fit the Vampire theme as well as the PI theme very well. (Reminded me of the feeling I had as a young girl about “Moonlighting” – the PI show that made Bruce Willis famous)
The things that made the ‘noir’ work: a) Voiceovers (totally cool and helps the storyline without having to see everything and also helps when a person has secrets) b) the Car and scenes in it. c) Mick’s hair – I liked it apart from the fact that there were a lot of bad hair moments and Epi 16 was a whole bad hair day! d) His clothes – the coats and the shirts (most of you don’t like the moobies, but I always saw them as hard and masculine to the touch – real moobies look totally different, soft with bigger nipples) e) The Loft, on the inside (timeless & cool) and outside (a bit gothic) f) His name – Mick is not a common name and Mick St John just sound so timeless! g) His jewelry (I read somewhere that Alex chose the ring out of 200 samples given to him (don’t know if it is true, but excellent choice)
2) Casting of main, support and guest actors was brilliant (although Coraline not that great and actress, physically pulled it off)
3) The story was well written, each episode a buildingblock to the next. Each week’s case/story tied in well with the progression of the overall storyline (Wish there was more of this type of writing on H5-0)
4) The dialogue – always well written and thought through – Most of the best one-liners they gave to Josef of cause and he truly delivered them well!!
5) Music was really used very well to enhance and round of certain scenes.
6) Nice ways of making difficult things work (like the old cop being blind, etc.)
7) Most Memorable Moments: a) Biggest moment – Josef turning Mick (at that moment Mick accepted that he will rather be Vamp and safe Beth than to be what he always wanted(being human) without her! b) Most intimate – Mick feeding on Beth. c) Sexiest – Mick testing Simone’s blood (I am sure a little lick of it would have given the same info as that whole s.xing up off it – yummy!!) d) Most hardwarming – Mick telling Beth how he was turned at the end of Epi 3 (I wanted to eat him alive just then) e) Cutest – Mick’s reaction and face when Beth kissed him at the end of Epi 5 (that little smile nearly killered me!!) f) Most frustrating scene – the rooftop at the end of Epi 13 (the kiss was awesome, but the rest of the convo drove me up the wall – why oh why didn’t they just DO IT when he was still human?? I mean really lunch at the beach – couldn’t they have just found a PIER somewhere? (Beth should have called Pearl on this matter) g) The Final scene – A perfect end to a beautiful story that was killed prematurely!
8) As you can see I mostly loved it all (but I am not finished yet!!)
Something I forgot in my summary above: One of the major reasons why I also liked it, is that they didn’t take the whole Vamp scene too far – with all sorts of magic things, flying bats and monsters. They kept it “believable” to a sense and within human grasp.
LOVE all of your “Most Memorable Moments”.

FOYeur: I love your short and medium version of why you totally loved Moonlight – Alex O’Loughlin. I so agree. He’s always said he put everything he had into the Mick character to the point of turning himself grey, working 16 hour days / 6-7 days a week, doing most of his own stuntwork & continually keeping up the morale of the cast. (It was not any easy set to work on with all the in-fighting & constant personnel changes.) All his efforts are so evident in every scene. I really loved the writing and the supporting cast, but Alex was, without a doubt, the heart of Moonlight. McMo
Short list, and there is nothing short about him, but is of course: Alex O’Loughlin. I mean…yeah.
1. The Noir look definitely fit the show and I think enhanced it many times. It was just kind of a shock at first because it is different and not used much anymore.
2. Mick’s look – yes, I even fell for the damn hair. But NEVER the moobies!! I still have to watch McG after the moobies to get the image out of my head. Loved the jeans (aldkjfa;sdkjfa;djf) and the long jackets and the upturned collars and the jewelry. I am a sucker for a man who can pull off a few pieces of jewelry without lo0king like a pimp daddy.
Mick’s name – i can guarantee you that there were way too many boys that were born in 2007/2008 and were named Mick. Parents love to do that sh/t to their kids.
3. The stories were very well written and I think got even better by the end of the series when they started utilizing Josef more. He was a much needed touchstone for Mick.
I can’t really think of my most memorable moments right now. Too much to think about! I like yours but the intimate one, of Mick feeding on Beth, I have to say didn’t feel intimate to me. To her yes, but to him it was survival…he DIDN’T want to do it. So that took away from it for me. Sexy yes, but not intimate.
I think why that Feeding scene felt so intimate to me personally, was that I had this feeling, after seeing it the 1st time, that something way more intimate than s.x just happened between them (and she lost her Freshie v.rginity at that moment) – I know he did say not this way (think he would have prefered a more “romantic” situation for their “1st” time -me too.)
)
But then his “voiceover” at the door at the end of the Epi, made me feel like he actually did feel her INSIDE him afterwards (talk about reversal of roles (see my other post)…her inside him
freshie virginity!!
You need to love the moobies. Embrace them. See their beauty.
Things I did not like or wanted answers for:
1) How could Coraline get up after being staked in the scene when Mick saved Beth as a girl?
2) How did Coraline survive the fire? Even if she can somehow recuperate like Lance, how could she get out of the fire? Did anybody help her?
3) How did Josef survive the blast that “killed” him and how did he get out undetected? Did Josef have any special ablilities that helped him survive so many years?
4) Do you get the qualities of the bloodline that sire you? Was Mick able to recover from burns and he just never knew it?
5) Why did they let Mick “shoot up” with blood in the Epi 1?
6) Worst props in a scene: The Ice in the bath Epi 4. The rest of the Epi was so well done and that filthy “No star Motel” look cool, but why, why did they have none melting ice cubes? – Okay I know it was for Mr O’Loughlin’s comfort that things did not get to cold in there but really they should have made a better plan.
7) Would it really have broken there budget to have a very simple room with a bed and mayby the freezer in it for Mick. Why was Mick’s freezer in the bathroom? Most bathrooms I know does not have electricity facilities for that kind of appliances.
8) Unlike most/all of you I did not like the Mick/Beth shower scene. It was to forced to me and not acted out very well I can think of so many ways they could have done it “sexier”…..
ACA to just about everything!
1) Lance seemed to laugh at stakes, so I can only surmise that they didn’t really faze her much either.
2) I’m assuming that she was a bit injured, but that she basically walked out of the house.
3) Um, yes!!! Thank you! That always bugged me.
4) This, this and this! Always wondered that as well. Wouldn’t anyone that the supreme vamp family sired have super special stuff?
5) We never did see him shoot up again, but we did see the big needle. Guess the writers realized that shooting up wasn’t very sexy.
6) ACA
7) Again, thank you! I wanted a small room that he could jack the A/C down to freezing and not actually have to sleep in a freezer.
8) Meh – I was okay with it. In the end, I think we were supposed to be extra special impressed by Mick’s self-control.
Spurschick, reguarding 1) Lance did stake her in Epi 12 and it seemed to do the job then. Unless he used a special silver stake or something the whole thing still bugs me.
Gah! You are correct. Inconsistent staking. #showFAIL
And in regards to (8) ….I would have liked them to face each other, Beth trying to undress him. Mick pulling her hands away and putting it behind her back, and by doing so pulling her closer. She then tries to kiss him, wispering to him “turn, me turn me”. Exposing her neck to his mouth and him actually contemplating the idea and then with the impressive self-control that you mentioned, turning his head away ….to me that would have given the a better chance at proper acting for the scene…something like that would have DONE IT steamier to me! Thud!! (but thats just me)
Umm… Foyeur… while I like the shower scene as it was, you just wrote a rather *ahem* hot scene there.
What can I say …..a big part of my ‘Fantacy-world’ happens in showers……and I thought they could have s.xed it up just a bit more – still within the boundaries of CBS of cause!
FOYeur, ACA about the shower scene. I found it kind of silly and not at all sexy. Beth jacked up on vamp blood should’ve been clawing his clothes off and trying to nibble on his neck. Now that would’ve been hot, but it’s CBS so what do you expect.
I guess I´m in the minority then, cause I felt the shower scene was $exy, could be that I placed myself in Beth´s dress there. I find it h0t with a man behind you. Works for me
And as far as I can tell Beth was totally grinding her butt against Mick.
Paula, I totally agree with you about the butt to groin action (hot indeed). It is one of my preferred ways of seduction and normally produces good and pleasurable results. In their case it just didn’t DO IT for me – to forced and not acted out unconvincingly.
I left out 2 more things that I really did not like:
1) The Cover photo for the DVD – If I saw that in a shop and had to buy it on sight, I would have walked right on.
2) The Vamp eyes – totally gross and really looked uncomfortable.

Now more on a Sardonic note – What was Moonlight actually all about?:
It was not about a Vamp and a Human but more about 2 people from different worlds – Mick was from Venus and Beth from Mars (meaning Beth was wearing the pants in this relationship and he acted like a girl all the way)
We enter this story on a very significant day – It was the day Beth changed in Mick’s eyes from being the little girl he saved and protected for so long, to being a women that stirred something inside him and made him her little lapdog! She kind of surprised him by being this ‘newswh0re’ with b@lls.
Why do I say she was wearing the pants? She always made the 1st move:
She walked up to him and started a conversation 1st.
She touched his hand 1st.
She suggested that they work together 1st.
She hugged him 1st.
She kissed him 1st.
She tried to seduce him 1st.
She declared her affection towards him 1st.
She told him to get his act together quickly.
She ended their “relationship” 1st.
Although he saved her a few times, I thinks she saved him just as many times and maybe more:
As a little girl she saved him by giving him the guts to brake the hold Coraline had on him.
In Epi 2 she saved him, by shooting the guy.
In Epi 3 she saved him by removing the stake from his heart.
In Epi 4 she saved him by feeding him her blood.
In Epi 14 she saved him by having the photographer killed.
In Epi 1, she said that she’ll protect him when they work together.
She called him a ‘delicate flower’ and it turned out to be true.
She decided to go after Coraline to expose her and saved him from Coraline’s seduction a 2nd time.
And I think his M00bies was bigger that her B00bies.
And he was wearing more jewelry than her.
And they used more makeup on him than her.
All in all, she had the b@lls and called the shots and he was in angst about their relationship the whole time!
Sardonicly of cause and with a lot of love – but its all true!

Feminist deconstruction of Moonlight for the win!! Way to go FOYeur. Love it all, because it is all true!! So many ways to view the series, through many different lenses.
In my quest to find out why we all fall so hard and completely for Mick (& AOL), I came up with the following theory:
Mick is actually one of the ‘Sistahood’. He thinks like a woman and acts like a women:
He slows the relationship down to think things through (what man does that?).
He doesn’t want to get physical before he understand the relationship (again girly girl).
He is in angst about Coraline and what he did to others.
He wants to correct the wrongs he did in the past.
etc…….(me thinks this makes us all lesbians – NOH8)
Then he is in spite of his “Immotal status” so vulnerable (we want to hugsies him fo evah)
..BUT then all this comes packaged in this “Handsome Devil with a Handsome devilish Jaw” – just as near to perfect as a human of the male variety can be (mostly because of his little “flaws” that make up a lot of yummy goodness!!)
And then he sometimes display this little boy face with all its charms and “innocence” (that little frown and sweet smile…. thud)!! What motherheart in any women can resist that?
ALL this is wrap up in the ultimate protector – he is strong, fast etc. – After all, that is what most women want from their man – Protect me and keep me safe!!
It is mostly done with so much old school chivalry, what lady can refuse?
Mick is just the PERFECT human/vamp alive (or undead)!! There is as much of the best female and male qualities in him and I think that is what grasps us and don’t want to let us go!!!!
……..and then all this comes attached to The FOY….. (need I say more?)

My thoughts when I read your excellent dissertation here — yes Mick is so perfect AND YET. And yet. He can be soooo frustrating. So flawed.
More so than just the little flaws that you mention. He’s “living” his “life” with fear & regret instead of confidence. Like many vamps he’s become insensitive to the feelings & problems humans have & has to force himself to care about humanity in general — which he does by being a P.I., not because he enjoys the work or anything, because he wants to help people to **make up for all the bad things he’s done before.** Things he can’t change & can’t really be punished for, at least by humans (for hurting humans, I assume, like that poor girl Coraline kidnapped & made him feed on during their honeymoon). I think human!Mike (in the 40s & 50s) was kind of a jerk that none of us would really like much as a person, as handsome as he is. However, vamp!Mick is totes my sister from another mister. Love that guy.
For what it’s worth & because I can’t seem to ever stop yapping about ML, here are some of my thoughts about several questions raised:
“How did Josef survive the explosion in his office?” When last seen, he was under the gaming table. I think he escaped into a trap door in the floor. Josef didn’t survive over 400 years without having a host of contingency plans.
“Why did Mick use a freezer instead of a cold room?” Granted, both would serve his purpose, but I think the writers chose the freezer for its story telling opportunities. Y’all have to admit, there are some pretty funny lines & really sexy/hot moments built around that little piece of heaven.
“Why was the freezer in Mick’s bathroom?” Convenience? Not sure, but I’ve been in some up-scale homes with small refrig./freezers built into master bathroom walls, along with HDTV behind mirrors. I played with the TVs, but there was no way I was opening those refrig. doors. With enough money, almost anything is possible.
“The phony plastic ice cubes.” The lady with all the logical reasons for everything in ML cannot come up with one for this. A major fail in a series that had few. By far, the worst prop of the series.
(On the up-side, we never saw them again.)
“Mick’s ring.” Yes, AOL was asked to personally pick out Mick’s ring. I don’t remember if if was from a collection of 200, but it was a very high amount.
‘Why did Mick “shoot up” blood in the first ep?” I’m thinking he was just in the mood for a quick boost of vamp “caffeine.”
“Why did Josef not aging while in LA go unnoticed?” Explanations were never given, but I believe in time, the writers would have come up with something that made sense.
“How did Coraline survive burning?” I think the writers were tying the “Cure” in with the Black Plague that periodically ravaged Europe from the early 1300′s – the mid 1600′s. In truth, certain humans had inherent genes that, amazingly, rendered them immune to the bubonic virus while 1/3-1/2 of Europe’s population did not. I believe these writers would have somehow meshed the the fictional “Cure” into historical reality & explained how it was possible for Coraline to survive the fire. How, I don’t know. I do know that Coraline, Lance and the “Cure” would have returned to ML if there had been a Season 2. Which reminds me………….

Wow ladies – just wow. I watched the first four and will catch up on my own. You all have put such thought and dissertations into this show and blog, and while I can’t say that I’ll read all the comments, or re-watch them all twice in a weekend, and I doubt I’ll qualify as a Mooney, but I can certainly watch the eps and look for trends, details, and relationship touch stones like I never would have on my own. FOYeur your summation puts me on a good start. Can’t wait to get started!

I liked the voice overs too. I just love the voice. The sound of his voice…even with his american accent. Which I’m sorry, but I hear midwest all over it! The way he pronounces his A’s is just like my friend who is from Nebraska.

Uh oh – sounds like someone jumped in with both feet if you are on ep 2 already. I found that I would watch it, then read all the comments on pages 1,2, 3 etc and they are all so detailed that I enjoyed it even more.
I watched first time on a rainy saturday and a few girls on twitter walked me through what to look for in each epi. I’m quite nostalgic about that experience because their excitement made me excited…

Sometimes you get a flash of McG’s a*smashing or an expression or way of saying something. It’s interesting to see AOL do something so different. This and the ep of Criminal Minds make me respect him so much as an actor. (Not seen him in anything else – yet). Some people said his acting was wooden at the beginning of H50 – no, that’s a reflection of the slightly emotionally stunted character he plays.
Thought I recognised the actor who plays Josh, he was in an ep of H50. Also Sophia Myles was in Spooks (UK).
MJ – you might be confused as to what they said was wooden about AOL – heh.

Those wooden comments really BUG me. He’s playing a character. A military lifer, a highly decorated Navy Seal. Should he act like Barney Stinson? Obviously it’s the haters saying that, and they are just jealous of his pretty. They haven’t taken the time to watch any of his other work.

I admit, when i first started watching H50 and I didn’t know anyone but DDK, I thought something was amiss with McG. Wasn’t sure if it was acting or the writing. Over time I think he played the char exactly as written. Either way, he’s made up for it in spades.
Once I knew he was the guy with the glasses in the Criminal Minds epi that has haunted me since I saw it back in 2009, I knew for sure he was amazing because I NEVER got that epi out of my mind.

I’ve just had a marathon viewing of the first 12 episodes of Moonlight and loved every second of it. How did I miss this before now. Alex is amazing in it and I cannot believe the show got cancelled after one season. I really didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. Fantastic acting by Alex. I love how he’s so different in every role he plays. Many actors are the exact same in each role. I normally don’t go for romance or sexual tension but the whole thing has just got me hooked. I can’t seem to access more than 12 episodes on line so I’ve ordered the DVD’s
This is what I miss so much on H50. Alex actually gets to show emotion and he’s amazing when he’s given decent material. I can’t believe that I’ve enjoyed this a lot more than h50 as well. I’d much prefer to see more seasons of Moonlight than H50. I can’t wait for the DVD’s to arrive. I’ll going to rewatch the first 12 episodes again. I usually never want to rewatch a show so soon after the first viewing.
Debbie: Welcome to Mooneyland. So happy you are enjoying. Believe me, we fans didn’t want the series to end. There were several reasons for its cancellation, the main one being the writer’s strike. Moonlight fans fought like crazy to bring it back and still remain some of the most loyal fans in TV land.
ACA, Alex was fantastic in the show and really was the center point of it’s success. I love Alex as McGarrett too, but you’re right, Moonlight gave him the opportunity to show us what an expressive & well rounded actor he is. I loved his humor in ML too. The DVD is well worth the cost. You won’t be sorry. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve watched mine. I only wish there were some outtakes or specials on the DVD, but unfortunately, it’s just the episodes. I would have loved to see a gag reel. Enjoy watching the last 4 episodes and let us know what you think. Mooney on! McMo

We are like ungrateful teenagers, screaming how we hate our parents (CBS) one minute & then in the next, sobbing in their arms as they comfort us over … whatever… and they’re our best friend & we love them so much…

Just watched Ep 8, (death row vampire). Bit confused as I thought Beth had already realised who Mick was. I got that impression from her having a flashback a few eps back. Oh well.
Death row vamp was scary. Thought the line ‘What are you?’ from the Hollywood guy was pretty funny.
I think that flashback was a dream and because he saved her, she thought she was replacing her “saviour” from back then, with him now.

Well, I’ve finally succumbed and started watching the series. I had mentioned more than once on Sardonic that I didn’t do vampire anything, books, movies, TV. But all you Moonies raved about it so much that I slowly (v v slowly) came around. I have to say that starting to watch episode 1 was kind of like the first time I ate sushi. I wanted to like it, knew I was expected to like it, but was so scared I wouldn’t!
Like the sushi, I was hooked immediately. Like McMo, I think it was his voice which pulled me in during that interview scene. That and his lovely face. I could even ignore the long hair.
It’s been a Moonlight weekend for me. Watched eps 1-4 Friday, 5-12 on Saturday and 13 in the wee hours this morning. Plus I’ve read all the comments on Pages I, II, & III and over half on Page IV. (I stopped reading when the discussion started on ep 14 cause I haven’t watched that one yet.)
You people are all so amazing with your serious insight and witty thoughts. I just have a few random comments at this time. I plan to rewatch (probably later in the week) and then might have more to say.
I love the voiceovers for the extra insight into his character, but mostly because I just like listening to his voice. It reminds me more of Dr. Andy than Steve. And he smiles more than Steve … and that smile…
However, I didn’t like it when Beth did the voiceover. I think it was only in one episode.
I did see glimpses of Steve on occassion. Especially the strut. I think it was Ep. 13 where he walks down a hallway. We’ve seen that strut now in 3 different shows so it’s definitely an Alex thing.
I have to agree with Paula that the open shirt beach walk, while it may have been cheesy, was the character showing how much he was enjoying being in the sun — he hadn’t had the sun on his chest for a long time. I know a lot of people hated it, but because it was fitting for the character, I don’t think Alex would have had a problem with it. And I, too, thought it was cool that he buttoned up for the picnic.

Karin, like you I always skip all the vampire stuff, but Infant/Grace was encouraging me to give it a try. I usually don’t like tattoos, men in jewelry, or even longer hair. Strangely, I have overlooked every single one of those taboos for one and only AOL in whatever he is in.
You are probably right, too, that after being cold for 50 years feeling warm in the sun and enjoying the sun was a great change for the character. I have to agree, though, that while the ‘babes’ were sauntering around in their bikinis and Beth was wearing a sweater, they were clearly overdressed for the beach. Also -can’t wait to see your thoughts for the turning!! Unless I should go back and look for it, I inserted my few thoughts with the others. EP. 14 is up next for me too. I’ll hit it later this week.
Truth. I didn’t notice a single person on that beach except for him. Never noticed what she was wearing either!

CVC you are not alone in turning a blind eye to previous dislikes when it comes to Alex. I dislike tattoos, HATE chest hair, facial hair and washboard abs. I would PHYSICALLY fight AtPlenkov and wardrobe if it meant they would stop covering his damn tattoos and manscaping him!

This is so funny because I’m really not a big tattoo fan either but on AOL…me likey. Well the back one I’m not 100% in love with but I’m OK with it and it’s boatloads better now that it’s been re-done (it’s more manly). The shoulder tats are works of art and the gecko…well, what’s not to like about the gecko. Damn him for making me like stuff I don’t normally like.
My love of tattoos is so specific, and by this I mean it’s just basically Alex. The man can pull them off.
It’s in here in Oz at the moment (couple of years now) for guys to have the Southern Cross (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Cross_Flag) tattoo. Ugh. To me, they’re cliched. What I didn’t and still don’t like about washboard abs are the really chunky, bulky ab muscles. Like guys get when they would rather be in the gym than with their lady…know what i mean? Alex’s are bulky, they’re lean..and that’s why I love his muscles. He looks like he comes by them honestly from living life instead of living at the gym. Also he has the leg muscles to balance out his upper half. *fanning again*

Reading these sounds familiar and I just realized why. For those moms among us – we all now how our children are perfect (thus my perfect sons) and we overlook or embrace every.single.thing. about them. Any serial killer or gang banger thug can still get his mom to go on the stand and tesitfy ‘what a good boy he is’. We are the same. There is nothing about AOL we won’t excuse, and the rest of the rules apply to other people’s children, or TV crushes, or whatever. Although as a wise hooker said, it is real love, not that fake celebrity love. So it is justified. Amen.
Hold on to your seats, but there actually ARE a few things I don’t like about Alex. I just don’t go on & on about them. He chooses to be a positive dude so I choose to be positive about him. I think that’s only fair.

Good points, I was re-thinking the mom analogy later and wished I could have taken it down for a variety of reasons. Of course, no body is perfect but we all can certainly overlook a things/flaws/differences when we really want to. Moms or not moms – in another example I would think for those animal lovers out there do the same thing to excuse your pets when they do something otherwise gross. (said the non pet owner) And congrats on the 2 decades – a lot of ‘overlooking’ probably contributed to that success.

seriously tho, I do not like/understand facial piercings…not my thing at all. And at 23 if I was in a bar and approached by a guy with a brow piercing and a nose piercing I would have politely ran quickly away. Tattoo’s are an individual thing. Depends on the tatt’s, depends on the placement. I think the best think he could have done was get ride of those forarm tatt’s. They were badly done and horribly faded. I wasn’t a big fan of the original back tatt, but I like the polynesian flavor it has now. I wonder what brought about transforming that? The tribal was kinda creepy with that scary face in it…..

Re: The Turning…..
Here’s what I learned at Comic Con yesterday:
• Ladies (and Slezak) really do love Alex O’Loughlin… O’Loughlin and Dohring participated in a panel to promote the show’s return. When the moderator asked them to name their favorite episodes, O’Loughlin said he had “favorite scenes.” Cue the suggestions from women in the crowd: “The shower scene! THE SHOWER SCENE!” (You know the one, with Shannyn Sossamon, who plays his ex Coraline with Sophia Myles, who plays Beth.) When it came time for the official audience participation, 25 fans queued at a mike to ask a question — only one of them was male.
• But they do not like Coraline. The panel began with a 12-minute clip reel. O’Loughlin and Dohring noted that the loudest applause was for Beth staking/stabbing Coraline — and that it was “such a shame” that Sossamon couldn’t make it that day.
• I am, apparently, actually a gay man. When we last left Mick,he’d become human, albeit temporarily. In the April 25 episode, Bethis in danger — again — and Mick realizes he can’t save her withouthis vampire power. He demands that Josef turn him back. The short clip shown, of Josef drinking from Mick’s neck? Kinda hot, y’all. “It wasn’t our intention to make the scene hot,” O’Loughlin said, when I asked him about it after the panel. (Because you know that I did.) But it is to the show’s advantage if we, the viewers, find it hot, right? “Sure, absolutely. What my intention is as an actor — as is Jason’s, it’s safe to say — is to make the scene true. In any dramatic scene you play on a show, you can’t play ‘hotness,’ you can’t play ‘humor.’ You’ve just got to go for the truth of the scene. And we did, and I think it kinda worked.” According to Dohring, it hellaworked. “Dude, when you see the scene, I swear to god, I was emotional for an hour or two afterward. I’m not f—in’ jokin’,” he told me. “Usually, it doesn’t hit me like that, or it’s five or ten minutes. It’s very f—in’ moving, because we got a 30-piece orchestra for that scene and our director, David Barrett, kept telling these guys, ‘Play like you’re never gonna play again,’ and these guys were, like, going crazy. That clip didn’t do it justice. You’ll see some f—in’ amazing stuff.” (Like them ending up on a table? But again, Dohring stresses that it wasn’t their intention to make the scene “hot.”) “The thing is, the dude’s human, which is what he’s wanted. It’s the thing he’s always bitchin’ to me about: ‘I want to be human.’ And then he f—in’ can’t. It’s like, here, I have to take from you the one thing that you want. That’s f—ed up.” (Or, what I call good television. And, of course, hot.)
• Mick and Beth may finally get it on. “I think that they are going to do that,” O’Loughlin said, when an audience member asked if the pair will “seal the deal.” Now whether he meant sometime during Season 1′s final four episodes, or just eventually, he didn’t say. I can tell you that one of the clips from an upcoming episode included a passionate kiss. Beth tells Mick that she’s not the thing keeping them apart, and neither is his vampirism. It’s him — he’s afraid of getting hurt. She starts to walk away, and he grabs her. (You can hear the squeals, right?)
• The future of the show is still up in the air. There’s been no pick up, but the rabid fan support (Moonlight Blood Drive!) gives O’Loughlin hope that there will be. He told me he’s turned down film roles that would conflict with work on Moonlight‘s hypothetical second season. Dohring said they’re filming the final episode of Season 1 now, and it includes a cliffhanger. “You see vampires from a bunch of different circles, all walks of life, meeting together to deal with a threat that comes on all of us…” What can you do, besides open a vein, if you want a Season 2? Tune in now, Dohring says. “I think the better we do [in the ratings] with these first two episodes, the better the chance we have.” And, hey, if you haven’t heard, this Friday’s episode is gonna be hot. (Let’s take bets on whether PopWatch reader Elizabeth’s DVR gets tricked into recording it.)
I miss Moonlight. Stop making me want to rewatch it. I’m just starting Walking Dead, I don’t have time for ML rewatches! lol

Alas it does not. I ran out of dvds (my cousin only had the first four seasons) so now I’m watching it episode by episode, once a day during the week on cable.
Moonlight just made a new fan. A fellow Finnish Scott/Alex fan decided it was time to watch a few more episodes of ML. Apparently she´d watched 2 or 3 some time ago but didn´t get sucked in. Well yesterday she said she´s having a sudden appetite for some Mick, and today she´s crying to me why didn´t they ever make a 2nd season! She wants more And the funniest thing was she said she doesn´t like Alex´s look in ML (she prefers action man McG), and today she was gushing over Mick´s curlz and good looks.
I told her, that´s the magic of ML give it a bit more time and you´re stuck with Mick fever forever… Still new fans born every day.
I started re-watching ML yesterday too, first 3 episodes down a few more left once again.

I’ve been rewatching random episodes, too. A few more comments:
Ep. 13 — the beach picnic
He looks so happy and she comments on how happy he seems. Then “How long will it last?” Way to trample all over his good mood! His face just tightens up, and he looks away before he answers. I want to jump into my TV screen and just slap her every time!
Ep. 16 drinking Simone’s blood
The show keeps telling us that the vamps don’t consider this as intimate as humans do. If that’s the case, why does Mick turn his head away when Josef bites her arm? If he didn’t consider it an intimate moment, why not just watch? I suppose it could seem intimate to Mick because he knows how much Josef likes Simone — but in any case, I think the show is telling us something here.
Have seen all the episodes at least 2-3 times now. (I’m still a newbie compared to some of you.) and have yet to pick a favorite. As others have said, reading all the comments and others’ interpretation of scenes have added immensely to the enjoyment of watching the series. Thank you all.
One other thing I find interesting. My anti-vampireness is still intact. While I love this series, I have no desire to watch any other vampire shows or movies or read any books with this subject matter. I guess it took AOL to win me over even this far!
Karin, you’ll see in all comments I made about the feeding thing, that I also believe it is very intimate for the vamps…go and listen to Mick’s voice-over at the end of Epi 4…something like you are a part of me..For me (& I think the Vamps) the feeding is even more intimate than s:x itself.
….And have a look at there faces when they feed….it’s all “org@smic” faces. Nobody looks like that when they eat…..just saying!!
ACA on anti-vampireness. I have zero interest in anything vampire related. I never watched any other vampire series. I tried watching that v v popular vamp movie series and got 20 minutes into the first film and just had to turn it off. Not feelin’ it at all.
Yet I’m a Mooney. I guess I’m a one vamp kind of girl and Mick is the only vamp for me…oh…and Josef too, I really like Josef!

Finale spoilers!!! Just watched ep 16. So much to say even though it has been said. Of all the feelings AOL has evoked, which I shall keep to myself – that hallway scene killed me dead. I was truly sad…just felt stabbed in the heart…no pun intended at all believe it or not. His faaaaacce was so sad! Panties scrambled and hid under the couch! Vampires have needs! Great line. I’m on board with the side that thinks the feeding is more than just a meal. No doubt it is really enjoyed and the looks on all their faces at that moment – awkward. Hey Beth, he’s a vampire, what did you expect? And yes, next time knock first. I was riveted at the end…and sometimes I think the unexpected is good for show, or an ending. The end could have been the hallway scene and what a powerful end, a cliffhanger if renewed even. I’ll say the cleaners reminded me of the back up girls on Robert Palmer’s video from the 80′s. (addicted to love?). I did not take notes, but so many memorable things to say. And vampire justice? It needed to be done, they handle it within their own group as they see fit.
