            Of course! How perfect is that? We get Steve in a warm and fuzzy place – no pun intended – then she gets killered off, all of the death and torture catches up to him and we watch him stage a serious nutty. Sweet.

              HA ha warm & fuzzy….. Yeah, this is complicated! I mean, I like Cath lots. She’s great. I don’t trust her life in atplenkov’s hands though! Maybe the better way to say it is how Spursy did — why trust atplenkov with McG’s psyche and well being? Because he’s taken such tender loving care of it so far? The point of Show is to get McG to (metaphorically) wet his pants, remember?? I think this would qualify. :(

                I am all for the pants wetting!!

                He’s needed someone to soften him up outside the Core 4 and this is perfect.

                I just don’t think Steve’s whole world should be Danny. Both char need to grow outside their relationship. Danny has his family that lets him emo and now Steve has someone too. Though kids vs girlfriend isn’t quite the same…It does allow for some occasional warm and fuzzies from Steve. (that he feels…not the warm & fuzzies I get in my pants)

                And them bringing her in as a regular this year? Makes me think they ABSOLUTELY planned on doing something with Lori/McG last year. until they realized it was a HORRIBLE idea!. He was a LLWL’s for sure…

                  A romantic plot line is still… not my favorite idea… for this Show (and I don’t just say that as a founding member of #teamnokissing) but I get it that when a show is as character-driven as this one is (because it’s NOT a cop-procedural as much as CBS says it is) interpersonal relationships (the closer the better) are one way to move plot forward.

                  So, onward & upward! :D (and sorry for overusing the parenthesis)

                    Dirty LLWL!

                    Even as a huge supporter of #McG+Cath4Evah, I don’t need her in every episode.
                    I’m hoping that they use her character in the same way they have with Max. Not dominating any episode, and not even in every episode. AND, I hope they use her for her brains, not just her booty. After all, she is in Naval Intelligence, McG does go to her for work-related help. I hope she’s pulled in to help out with the Core 4 (not to become one of the Core) and in addition to using her smarts and Navy training, she can also get McG into a state of pantslessness.

                      It will be interesting to see how they might change things with Cath around more often. So far she´s only given McG some help work wise and v little s.xting. Could be Steve doesn´t get up from bed at all for a while (aaaah good times ahead…)
                      Still think fans are more accepting having Cath involved with Steve than Lori, who they just tried to shove down our throats till we gagged.
                      I also believe show is trying to make up for McG´s tragic season, telling us this early on of Cath being on so 3 sounds a bit like an apology or brown nosing the fans.

                  Ah! Perfect sentiments! Aside from Danno, there’s gotta be more than dead parents and double-crossing buddies in this guy’s social calendar! Apparently his high school football buds and GFs have all left for the Mainland (as there is no other logical reason the women are not lined up outside Casa McG armed with pies and dressed in teeny bikinis). If they won’t let MaryAnn stay, then Cath it is!

                  I’ve always been #teamCath and am interested to see her added to the cast. I’d like to see her used similar to the way Max is used…not in every ep but brought in when she adds value to the show. And yes, my idea of adding value includes getting McG pantsless. Non-Sardonically, I hope they don’t screw the pooch with Cath’s character they way they have with some other females they’ve tried to introduce.

                  I also find it hysterical that as soon as this was announced we’re all speculating on when they will kill off poor Cath. My guess…episode 3.18 by WoFat in the Billiard Room with the Lead Pipe.

                    I think/hope they learned a lot about what NOT to do with a female character with Jenna & Lori. The good thing is Cath is already established so at the very least her introduction won’t be all wierd and stuff and it won’t be an angsty, what is she here for type scenario. Hopefully 3rd times the charm. :)

            This really made me chuckle ! First Spursy happy poo 💩💩 to killering off Cath before S3 premiere has been filmed.

            All kidding aside, I’m happy Cath has been upgraded to regular, I also just hope TPTB dont fck with the character.
            I don’t want her to be just his booty call and I really hope she is more than just a Pretty face in Cammo behind a flat screen monitor armed with bluetooth.

            Have any of you watched the short lived The Forgotten a few seasons back ? It was Chr!stian S!aters drama – I liked it and MB was part of the cast and I really really liked her character. I never got into Combat Hosp.

            I want good things to happen with Cath ! For realz !

            ps… Didn’t realize this was here, so I haven’t read all comments.
            Did anyone read S2 has been shortened to 23 epi ? Can’t remember where I read it, but I thought was due to sitch with our guy … I have no doubt he comes through this better and stronger.

              I think they’re shooting only 23 H50 episodes because of the NCIS-LA crossover. For the H50 stars who appear in the NCIS episode, it makes a total of 24. Maybe that’s a contractual thing.

              What I think will be interesting is turning Cath from a booty call to an actual girlfriend. Has McG ever had a *real* girlfriend before? plenkov could mine a lot of comedy gold from this, and show McG (for once) failing at something.

              And it is kind of a nice fantasy… do booty calls ever turn into real, long-lasting girlfriends?!

              Looking forward to McG in bed a lot more, without shirt or pants!

      In all seriousness though, I am looking forward to Cath joining the team. I think TPTB have learnt from the mistakes they made with Lori and have recognised the need to have another strong female character to run along side Kono. We know Cath is independent, capable and will most certainly not say oh I can’t do my job because my brain turns to mush when I’m around you, stud muffin.

      Catherine is sassy, inteligent, strong willed, just to name a few positive traits about her. I like her. Most fans do. TPTB are wise to bump Michelle up to a regular as they know fans generally like Catherine. And hey at the end of the day we will get some serious character development with McG. Especially when Wo Fat killers her and their unborn babeeeee.

                Yes, Soapie here we come……In season 18, the Cath/ Steve baby (a little girl of cause) will fall madly in love with little (can’t remember is name, Rachel/Danny baby) Oh yes the baby turned out to be Danny’s after all…..and in season 20, the Final, Danny and Steve become in-laws, the ultimate Bromance…. :lol:

    So I was up late last night sickly (no one sang me soft kitty)….and I watched…Friends with Benefits w/ Justin Timberlake and the chick from That 70s show. Ok, never was a JT fan, but I found myself really liking him, and the movie really wasn’t bad. AND ok, stay with me here…..this is going to sound really out there, but I may have really enjoyed movie more than I should have because I kept taking JT and replacing him with STAN…..and it totally worked!! I could so see Alex in this role. They should have made this movie 5 years ago and had him in it. naked. lots of skin in this movie.

      Really liked the movie……Timberlake is growing on me as an actor and impressed me a lot.
      I imagine Alex in every movie I watch……….correction at the moment I only watch movies/shows with Alex in it……I know, I know, its a bit of an obsession, but I don’t really care…sigh!!

      I haven’t seen this movie but this is how Alex is truly a life ruiner. I also can barely watch a movie or movie previews without thinking he’d be great or not so great in a movie role. Recently I watched Leap Year (yes, it’s a chick flick..but I like Amy Adams…and Ireland) and while I had seen it pre-Alex, I simply cannot watch the movie now and not wish it was Alex in every scene. He can do an awesome Irish accent and while this guy was not hard on the eyes, who can better pull off the sensitive macho guy who is just on the ‘pretty side of ruggedly handsome’ look? I think he has forever cornered the market on that look IMO…. F.L.R.

        I’m going to see Othello on the stage in a few weeks. I think Alex appeared in that on stage in Sydney. Don’t know which role he played so I will just have to imagine him as all the male characters and hear his lovely voice in my mind.

        I do this too BUT it never works the other way around. I never see another actor in something and think “wow, that guy would be a great Mick/Vincent/McG”. I just can’t see anyone else in those roles. I never saw the original series, so I can’t even see Jack Lord as McGarrett (although I fully appreciate that the next time this series is remade when I’m sixty or something, I’ll be the one saying “THIS GUY? THIS GUY isn’t McGarrett! ALEX O’LOUGHLIN is McGarrett!! I don’t want to hear ANOTHER WORD ABOUT IT!!!”).

    Well, this seems like an appropriate place for for Part 2 of ‘Robert Frost Thinks I Hate Him’.

    It’s very short, so I’d better clarica a bit first. I was reciting poetry in my head – I do this, it’s a hobby – and the third and fourth lines of a McG-related version of ‘Fire and Ice’ popped into my head out of nowhere. It got me thinking about how, 80% of 100 years into the future when 5-0 ends, what will happen in the last episode? Will there be a happy ending or will Atplenkov be waiting in the tall grass for us and make them go out in a blaze of glory, Butch and Sundance style? (And if he is, he’d better not have a Moses basket with him. Yes, I know that was reeds.)

    Then I started wondering whether it really matters, because we love McPantyDestroyer whether he’s smiling, emo/emu/emU-ing, a.smashing, making random sh/t s.xy or just generally doing anything that makes us say ‘His FAAAAAAACE’, and decided that, although I would prefer a happy ending (but only if they don’t fly off into the sunset in a helicopter again), so long as I’m a puddle of mush by the end of it, I don’t really mind.

    Blimey, that was a long explanation. I’m a little worried that the poem is just going to be a big letdown now, on account of only being nine lines long. Oh, also: it may be short, but it took fkn ages because the structure is the big daddy koala of them all, so. Appreciate it. Or else (I am totes bluffing here).

    Also also: to the Rest Of The World peeps, it must be read in a North American accent if you want lines 6 and 8 to rhyme.

    McG: We’ll Take Him As He Comes.
    (Don’t look at me like that. You were all thinking it.)

    Some say 5-0 will end in joy,
    Some say in pain.
    From what I’ve learned about The FOY
    I hold with those who favor joy.
    But if it had to end again,
    I’ve seen enough McG and loss
    To say, for smashing panties, pain
    Is awesomesauce
    And entertains.

        It’s difficult when it’s not in your own language – I’m currently reading Pablo Neruda (he’s Chilean) and although his poetry is still mesmerising, I’m very aware that I’m not getting the full effect of it because it’s translated.

        I don’t know any Finnish poets (embarrassingly), but I had a quick look around and found this, by Eeva Kilpi, which I thought seemed rather appropriate:

        “He Stepped Inside My Door”

        Let me know right away
        if I’m disturbing you.
        he said
        as he stepped inside my door,
        and I”ll leave the way I came.

        Not only do you disturb me,
        I answered,
        You turn my whole world
        upside down.
        Welcome.

      Your mention of Butch and Sundance reminds me of the scene in the horse episode where Steve and Danny are stuck in that little hut and have to shoot their way out. Who are those guys?!
      While I’m here there’s apparently a SPOILER that there will be some deep throat action in Ep 22/23. See H50 Undercover. Is Catherine coming back quite so soon? :-)

      I’m with Paula, I’d love to **hear** these. I started recording myself reading “The 5-0 Not Appreciated” after you originally posted it but kept giggling, and couldn’t get through it straight. ;)

      Here’s hoping that the finale doesn’t end on a helicopter into the sunset. :roll:

      But Again — LOVE THIS. It flows PERFECTLY. If I could get through it, I’d totally upload a reading of it — if we could find someone who could take a sound file & set it to pictures, upload it to youtube?? We would be in BUSINESS.

      Actually, the more I think of it, I could put pictures to sound (I think), if in fact someone could give me enough pictures and tell me what goes where (when?). Because I want to learn to make videos (because I am obviously a maschocist) & this seems like a good baby learning step.

        I can’t decide whether I you more because you couldn’t get through it or because you actually tried. But we HAVE to make a video of The 5-0 Not Appreciated – I have SO SO many ideas for it. FUCUPs are so inspiring! I will email you (and try to work out how to record it)!

        But I could only read the gecko poem out of the others – this one wouldn’t rhyme in my accent (and I think there might actually be a law against English people saying ‘awesomesauce’), and the other two would require me to sing, and believe me, no-one wants to hear that. Any volunteers?

        Oh my, I would love for a FUCUP to make a video, who cares how rough the outcome but with audio and pics there´s our little group that would love it :)
        I fear a softwear is needed for making a video. I have windows movie maker but the little I used it proves it´s not the best option for videos.
        Steph, I would love to hear someone read these funny writings, if only to get an extra laugh from an high pitched nasal souther accent ;) (I´m kidding!)

        There were three different versions of lines 6 and 8 – but I had to go with the one that had ‘awesomesauce’ in it. It IS the Sardonic translation of ‘is also great’. Had to be done (and so glad that you, and everyone else who said such nice things, liked it!)

      I´m looking forward to 221 to see how show will “quietly” brush off Steve´s absence. Won´t be the same as 210 when he took off.
      Hard to think we´ll only get 2 episodes of Alex this season any more. Pretty sure his 220 appearance will be brief.

    I want to be a true H50 homer, but this crossover just didn’t do it for me. Let me clarica… it didn’t do it for me without McG. The Callen character is just a bit much for me and I think that McG would have eaten his lunch and the lens.

    Now… on to the promo!!! The teasing shower scene!!! Who is in the shower with Kono?! Why do I think it’s Adam Nishimuri? And I am soooo happy to see Steve that I want to burst.

      It took me 4 tries to pause on that split second shower scene. If it’s Kono (not sure) maybe it’s Fong with her.
      And sooo happy to see Steve looking so good, too. Alex did what he had to and now he’s back! Bravo!

    Is it bad I didn’t watch the NoMcG epis? I thought about it, but every Monday, I kept thinking I needed to pay bills or write my report, and, hmmm, well, eventually, tv just never got turned on and I never much missed it. So the promo has me double excited for Monday. Back to the Show and McG looks all bamfysuperseal mode. :) Though I’m also nervous, as @PLenkov gets mean at the end of season. Interesting theory about DaddyCaan ; did he go through rehab?

      I’m not aware he did, but he must have seen actors go through some stuff in his time and have a good perspective on what’s important at the end of the day.

    About the one of their own getting killed, just read this info on tumblr : “BTW people, Kono won’t die this season because Lenkov already confirmed that the Kono-oriented episode that was meant to be in this season has been pushed back to season 3. So if she dies, what’s the point in having an episode about her and her past?”
    I´m getting pretty sure LLWL will again be proven guilty for misleading the viewers…we´ll see soon enough…

    The manhunt that occurs after “one of their own gets killered” – very cryptic. Beyond the core 4, we have:
    - Max
    - Kamekona
    - Charlie Fong
    - Joe? I’m assuming he’s Ohana?
    - LoHo – probably still considered one of their own, but her getting killed is unlikely unless it’s an “offscreen” thing which would be lamer than lame.

    Now we could get really apesh/t crazy with going after peeps like:
    - Rachel
    - Monkey – can you imagine?!
    - Malia
    - Dr. Asano – unlikely since Show really hasn’t invested enough in here.

    We still don’t know why Danno is going to get his face bagged and by whom… is it Yakuza related or StepStan related? I’m not beyond Show killering Rachel off. We’ve discussed before and I think it could work.

    Killing Monkey? Wow. I mean, wow. Nah. That ain’t gonna happen, right? The teaser does say that he’ll once again have to choose between work and family. Poor Danno. I still don’t see Monkey getting the ax.

    One of the boys appears to be the obvious choice. I’m leaning to either Joe or Charlie Fong. Perhaps both. Maybe it’s Joe and then Charlie Fong picks up the pieces of Kono’s broken heart in Season 3.

    That said, I too feel they will kill Cath off in some horrible way sometime next season. Hoping for a shower scene between her and McG without a murder in it before then.
    I’m old so I remember a popular show called NYPD Blue (late 80′s?). They killed off the main characters wife and his best friend. They then gave one son cancer (he recovered by some miracle) but they then killed off his other son. Hope Peter L never saw THAT show!

      I think I watched the final airport scene at least 10 times, smiling like an idiot, with a lump in my throat, each time. I almost think Steve’s “Did you miss me?” to Chin was adlibbed because Chin’s laugh was so spontaneous (yeah, I know good actors do that, but still…) Loved that scene, the hugs, Kono’s “you don’t call, you don’t write” and Steve’s laugh — the whole thing was perfect — and you could feel the real life emotions coming through. And Alex looks amazing!

    I just read that Atplenkov says that Cath will actually join the 5-0 team. What what?! It alludes to it straining their relationship, blah, blah, blah. It’s on Zap-to-it if anyone is interested in reading. If it’s true, I have huge issues with it. Primarily, a relationship between the boss and an employee. I use the word “employee” loosely, but everyone who isn’t McG is a subordinate and I just don’t understand how a relationship works there. Unless she’s joining the team in a Max or Kamekona-like way, I don’t like the idea of the FOY getting dipped in the company ink.

        Funny how some of us were so relieved to get rid of Lori and at the same time when got the news that Cath is going to be a regular on the show we welcomed that more-bed-fun possibility and now the mention of her being part of the team is already stirring things up :) I confess being a bit worried too, especially when they already told us her working with Steve is going to bring some stress to their relationship!

          After watching 2.22 last night, I’ve been giving this some thought – no, really ;) – and I’ve worked out what it is and now I feel better.

          I’m really only invested in the main 4. There are other characters that I like – Cath, Ian, Max and Fong mostly – but I don’t really care about them or empathise with them in the same way. I liked seeing Kono and Ian together, I loved Kono’s little giddy smiles at the beginning of the hotel scene because she’s a girl and I’m a girl and I know how she was feeling and because I care about her even though she’s fictional, I was happy for her. The other three are men, and since I have no idea how it feels to be a man in love, seeing it makes me feel a bit ‘meh’. Well, not ‘meh’ exactly, but I don’t really know how to describe it. Like it’s something I shouldn’t be seeing because I don’t understand it, maybe, and I can’t identify with the women either because I don’t know enough about them to know or care how they are feeling. It falls a bit flat because I’m watching two people being pleased to see each other and I should be empathising with at least one of them, but I’m just drawing a big fat blank, and I’d rather not see it at all.

          So, I’m hoping that with Cath being in the show a lot more – and I AM pleased about this, I like her and I have a proto-girlcrush on Michelle Borth which I’m expecting will develop into some full-on fangirling come next season – once we’ve got to know her better and they’ve got over the initial ‘we don’t actually know each other very well at all, do we?’ stage, I WILL care and then it will all be unicorns and rainbows.

          However, the domestic cargument thing still stands. Also, not too much kissing please.

          As a sidebar – Kono and Ian! How adorable? Our little girl’s all grown up and having a clandestine relationship with an unsuitable man *sniff*

      Yeah, I read that yesterday and honestly was not too happy about it…AT ALL. I liked the idea of Cath joining the show as a regular but don’t remotely like the idea of her joining the H50 team. It’s got too much soap opera potential for my liking and I just don’t see how they’re going to have her join the team in a way that makes any sense whatsoever.

      I’ve decided to just enjoy the beauty of McG’s return last night and look forward to the finale. I also think TPTB put stuff out there just to give us something to kvetch about all summer and this time I’m not biting. I’ll worry about it in the Fall. Besides, they are LLWL. ;-)

    Loved last weeks episode. Best of the season for me. Alex was amazing. I couldn’t watch without him. He’s the only character that I’m really invested in. All the others could leave and I’d still watch, but If Alex left then no more interest. I’m delighted with the news that Cath is joining the team. Love their relationship and can’t wait to see more of it. I’m usually not into relationships, but I also adored Kono/Adam. In fact Adam may become my second fav character on the show now.

And now this bit (rumor) is going around too “Receive an e-mail. After the H50 show next Monday a press release. Grace Park will not be back next season. Kono will die on the final.”
    Massive speculations, and best part is that even on Monday we can´t really be sure who´s killed and who´ll survive :)

    I wouldn´t say I´m disappointed seeing this finale, but they couldn´t come up with something totally surprizing? I found the 1st killing quite thrilling, to have him killed right off.
    I thought Danny was going to take off with Monkey, kidnapping her :)
    At the end I did think that whoever they went to see, must be old, if they had been moving her around, someone not able to take care of themself anymore… and now they are dragging the Shelburn story to next season…oh boy…

    I loved the finale. :D :D And am far less distressed then I was this time last year.

    Uhhh spoiler warning??

    1. In hindsight, who else could Shelburne have been? Imagine Steve fronting up to that village and Shelburne just being some random dude in his 50′s. “Hi Steve I believe you’ve been looking for me.” Ohhh yay Shelburne is some random person. The idea of Shelburne being his mum opens up a whole character based storyline for Steve, whose life (not to mention much of his fathers (adult) and sisters lives) is based on a lie. I now prefer that show went this route because the potential storyline wise, is pretty great. Alex getting the opportunity to run with this is going to be great.

    2. To be fair to Danny, a lot of who his character is is based around the fact that he is a father. I liked this storyline too. I think seeing Danny fight for his child will be interesting. Rachel needs to stop treating the father of her child like a doormat.

    3. Fryer, while not the most unsurprising choice, it at the end, was a process of elimination. It was hardly going to be one of the core four, it wasn’t going to be Duke, Max isn’t a cop and if it had of been again, some random police officer, whilst it still would have been sad, there are many fans who like Fryer and as such his murder struck an emotional cord with a fair chunk of the fan base.

      1. Agreed that Shelburne was likely Momma McG. Then again we didn’t see what Steve saw so who knows what twists TPTB will dream up this summer. I know McG is a fictional character but how much are they going to put him through? They better make the reason for Momma McG being in hiding all this time a damn good one or they’re setting her up to be another female character that I can’t like. Speaking of…
      2. Rachel…I’m so over the way she treats Danny. The whole “is Danny and/or his family leaving the island” drama did remind me of last season’s finale but it was different enough that I can live with it. However I can’t find any redeeming qualities in Rachel and she just needs to go and leave Monkey with Danno. From a story perspective I think the drama she brings makes Danno look like a putz sometimes. I hope he fights her for custody no matter what it takes.
      3. I’m totes OK with Fryer dying. It made sense for the story and was the likely choice.
      4. I thought Chin’s storyline and the dilemma he was faced with was good. I wasnt sure who he’d choose to help. Can’t wait to see the fallout from his choice.

    Having read a few fan reactions to the Shelburn mom, it being so predictable…since we weren´t shown what Steve saw, there´s still a possibility they write a different story around Shelburn. But if it is her mom alive, perhaps she´s somehow seriously injured and doesn´t even remember her children. How can a mom stay away for 20 years and justify it otherwise.
    I think Danny will not go to court to try win custody, wouldn´t it be easier to just black-mail Rachel, threaten to tell Stan about their affair.

          My mother was 42/43 yrs old when I was 15. She’s 62 now that I’m 34 and ya’ll know McG just celebrated Birthday #35 with the buttercream.

          1) I can’t readily visualize my mother, circa 1992. And unlike McG I have seen my mother rather regularly over the past 20 years. HI MOM-O. (not to be confused with @heymomo)

          2) I want to get some side-by-side pics of my mother, grandmother, aunt – anybody who’s not Cindy Crawford really- & look at them age mid-40s vs mid-60s. And see how long it takes a stranger (because for all intents and purposes McG & his mother are strangers) to realize they are looking at pictures of the same person.

            anywho……honestly my mother has looked the same for the past 25 years, just add some crows feet, jowls, and laugh lines…..it could be that she still has the exact same hair cut, but no, she really does look the same. My grandmother died a few years back and she looked the same to me my entire life, even going thru photographs they both look the same, except for wrinkles. Do you guys look THAT different from 20 years ago (I mean unless you were men back then) ? your hair is different, maybe a diff color, your makeup is different, the only thing thats really different on me is my eyebrows!
            I don’t think he wouldn’t not recognize his own mother, homeopathic stuff in japan is the bomb to….she may be looking younger than her daughter…..what would really be scary is if he didn’t recognize her and she was like this not so age appropriate hot milf and he hit on her….that would be funny, and gwoss.

    SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN’T SEEN THE EPISODE!

    One of their own? Seriously? I knew that Fryer was an option for killering, but I just never saw him as “one of their own.” Yes, I know he’s HPD, but… meh. I wasn’t feeling it.

    Am I the only one that thought that killer chick looked like Cath with really long hair?

    Not sure how I feel about Momma Shelburne. This has been on the theory list for a while now, but I have mixed feelings about it. Love Paula’s idea that she may not have a memory of them! Joe spoke of her as someone he deeply admired and they went through so much effort to keep her alive and hide her, Wo Fat was all freaked out about her… and there’s still Joe saying that Steve was getting too close. Is that all cool now that Wo Fat is in prison?

    I just have toooooooo many questions!!!

    Can we start taking bets on whether Joe is Steve’s real father? How pissed is Kono gonna be that Chin chose Malia? Weren’t they cuffing Adam the last time we saw him? Guess he wasn’t in jail long as he’s coming over to Kono’s? Did I completely miss the scene where Kono gets kidnappered?

    And the biggest question of all… HOW FANTASTICALLY BEAUTIFUL DID STEVE LOOK THIS ENTIRE EPISODE?! For reals. I might need to go to rehab if it makes you look this good. Fcking. Life. Ruiner.

    I’m glad Shelborne is mama McG but they should have told us way earlier- it would have been shocking mid season- finale- we were all expecting it. Fryer- would have been shocking if they hadnt promo’d that one of their own was dying. Dumb. Max getting shot- might also have been shocking if they hadn’t given that away in previews.

    Momma – I don’t think she’s injured or has memory issues. But why couldn’t she come out of hiding last ime WoFat was in jail?

    Spurs – glad you said something about Kono disappearing. I thought maybe I had channel flipped and missed it, except I hadn’t. Then I thought I dozed off – no chance. I guess – IT HAPPENED OFF SCREEN? Or did someone else see it? We saw Danno get the bag over the head treatment, maybe they did not want to do that again.
    I liked Chin’s story and also wondered who he would choose. Kono’s hands were taped in front in her lap, so she should be able to untape her mouth and take it off her feet. *optimistic thinking* I would panic and sink instantly.

      - Is Malia going to die? Or perhaps she was shot in the babymakers to where they can’t have childrens?
      - Is Kono going to be able to work with Chin now that she knows he chose Malia?
      - What’s going to happen with Grace?! I’m with Steve… is Danny just supposed to uproot every time Step Stan has a new project? I know that being a good dad is what makes Danny Danny, but how long can they drag this storyline out?
      - Who is going to play Steve’s mom? I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for Mary McDonnell. And is she like some Momma Secret Agent? And how much is this going to mess with his head?!
      - Is Billy Baldwin the new bad guy that will haunt them now that Wo Fat is in prison? And how long is Wo Fat going to be in prison?! Will we get a scene with Wo Fat and Momma McG?!
      - How are they going to incorporate Cath into show?! Since they have fcked up almost every other female character, save for Kono, I’m scared as to what they might do with Cath!

          Honestly I lost a little respect for Kono in the finale. I can buy you falling for the hot Yakuza guy and believing his story about trying to make the business legit. I mean, have you seen him? He’s pretty hot.

          But he invites you to where he’s going to torture WoFat, whom in the process of trying to capture may very well end up getting McG killed. Then there’s the whole gun and duct tape drama…and a week later you’re talking about ordering take out with him? The only way Adam is back in good standing is if he rescues Kono while Chin goes after Malia, and even then it’s a stretch. Is this the same Kono who punched a guy for dropping in on her wave in the pilot? Writers…Call Me.

    After reading y’all’s posts regarding how your own mothers look so different over time, I started thinking, “HTF could McG recognize McMama after 20+ years?”, (Even though she’s his own MOTHER), I say, BECAUSE SHE’S HIS AUNT, THAT’S why. She’s NOT his “Mom?”.

    I know my mother and her sister look enough alike that some people thought (and still think) they are twins. (My mother likes to point out she’s two years younger, HI MOM!) But, Please, Show, PLEASE, do NOT make McAuntie a twin. I mean, how stupid would McG have to be not to have guessed it was his aunt? Just don’t go there, Show. Leave us our illusions that pretty men can be smart, too.

    2.) Ahem. So, as I was saying, she’s McAuntie, thus making Momma McG still DEAD. RIP, “Mom?”. You are an honorable woman, after all. Phew! That’s where McG gets it. All is well in the gene pool.

    3.) McAuntie has been trying all these years to find Whoa Fat and bring him to justice for murdering her sister, WITH THE HELP OF Hiro Nishimori, who, BTW, is her LOVHA.

    3.) Hiro Nishimori has been doing business with Whoa Fat all these years because Whoa Fat has something on Hiro. What’s that, you ask? ADAM. He threatened to Killer Adam DEAD if Hiro doesn’t go along with his eevvviiill plan du Jour. Finally, Hiro/McAuntie decide that since McG has taken up the hunt, they can retire to Japan together and make a go of an origami stick figure business. Why has Hiro been hiding McAuntie all these years in love shacks that he has all over Japan? Because he LOVES HER, y’all. Oh, wait, LOVED her. He is currently residing in a bath tub in Japan, and also in storage in Hawaii. My bad. (So much for THAT business.)
    ANYWAY…..
    4..) This makes Adam Nishimori Hiro’s & McAuntie’s love child, y’all, and thus Adam and Steve are first cousins, NOT brothers, so sainted (and still dead) mother McG is still a saint. NOT a cheating cheater who cheats, nor a lying liar who lies. Thanks be to God as our masculine hero does NOT have lying genes, as I have known all along.

    And, on another note,

    1.) CHINCHINCHIN called Adam on his cell phone on the way to rescue Malia, y’all, so Adam could jump in his helicopter ( ownership of which was established in the second to last episode) and fish Kono out of the Pacific Ocean. (That whole duct tape thing motivates the sh/t out of Adam, NO??)
    How did Chin do this? (Off camera, of course):
    If you recall, CHINCHINCHIN has his number (and I don’t mean metaphorically) also from the second to last episode where Kono tells Chin that she can track him BY HIS CELL PHONE SINCE SHE HAS HIS PRIVATE CELL PHONE NUMBER, enabling them to make it to the airport in time to rescue handsome devil masculine manly man (back from rehabs and KILLING that black v-neck tee shirt and body armor, BTW). Why was he wearing pants???

    Focus, focus……

    As I was saying, Adam can track Kono from HER CELL PHONE.

    I know these phone things things because of all the product placement on Show by Microsoft. Thanks, Microsoft!

He worked the Hawaii angle, and McAuntie (who must have the washboard ab gene as she produced Adam) obviously worked the Japanese angle they got from the WWII VET IN THE WHEELCHAIR.

        I was on the fence about the daddy Caan ep for just that reason, but it was a great episode with a big guest star. The other ep I thought of was the Halloween ep. That might prove to elicit some funny commentary. I just really have no desire to hear them talk about LoHo. 2.10 was epic and she wasn’t in it much. It would be interesting to hear Alex comment on the torture scene.

          All I could see in McG’s eyes were pity for Yis when she confessed her feelings – no return of them. Interesting how we all things differently, it is what makes the world go round and what makes this Sardonic interesting, though we all do agree that McG needs to remove his pants! #TeamjustsaynotoLoHo.

    New theory… Joe’s last name isn’t really White. It’s McGarrett. Poppa McG’s brother. Don’t ask me how they kept that a secret forever and how Joe was able to use a different last name throughout his military career. I don’t know. He’s just called Steve “son” too many times for it to be coincidence, IMO. Even though Steve would technically still be a McGarrett based on birth certificate, John raising him as his own, etc., there would now be a very weird disconnect if Joe is his real father, unless Joe is also, secretly, a McGarrett.

    Which would mean that Steve was raised by two fathers, which I could swallow. Among other things. Woooooaaaahhh…. is it too early for that?! 😝😝

      Spursy, as opposed as I might seem at the idea (with all my ranting about it) ……I would have actually liked it if Joe was McG’s father. Physically I think he fits the profile better.
      One of the reasons why I never thought Shelburne could be Steve’s father, was that William Sadler is about 10cm shorter than Alex and the two of them together as father and son in present day will look totally weird.
      That being said….Joe then walking away so that Momma McG have to face Steve alone would be the most awful thing for a dad to do…..and I don’t think Joe fits the profile of a coward, that would do something as awful as that……just saying.
      I think people without children of their own can easily call somebody their child/son/daughter, when you are close to them. (I call my nephew living with me at the moment, my child, all the time)

    Think TPTB really jumped the shark with this whole plotline and actress. All of a sudden this is no longer good fun.

    I just hope she’s not there to be another “bada$$” Aka WhyisLoHo. Yawn. That’s what Kono is for, y’all! No H8, but Show, we don’t need a strong CAUCASIAN woman. We have Kono, and shes all the strong WOMAN we need. We heart her lots and lots, even if she does love her some duct-taping now and then. (Girls gotta do what a girls gotta do….)

      Momma McG *has* to be a badas.s. She killed Wo Fat’s daddy! She’s the only person in the whole wide world Wo Fat is scared of.
      I like Christine Lahti and I think now that they’re going with the whole Mom thing, she’ll be great in the role. She’s angsty – Paula’s right, not an actress we would view as a mother figure, but then again, Momma doesn’t appear to be your average mom.
      I don’t think she’ll be baking cookies when Steve knocks on her door.

    Meh…coming around to the idea, but grudgingly.

    However, I still stick to my thought that please don’t make her another WhyisLoHo. Forcing her to “be like Steve” and trying to make her “tough” really backfired. Kono made WhyisLoHo look like a preschooler. Lahti at least has all the potential to BE bada$$. But forget that. Here’s my r r important question of the day:
    Since Mama McG is alive,
    Does she still own the house, or can Steve keep it? If it is indeed hers, then where’s McGSpot gonna live??? I volunteer — my pants.

    Mom McG should be tough. She needs to face her kids questions on why she kept in hiding for so long…she can´t just break down in tears (sure hope not). I think Lahti is not going to be anything like Loho. For some reason I picture her in my mind like the so1 governor, I still keep thinking she will get shot too LOL! It would be fun to see mom move back home and Steve bunking now with Danny for a change. Or could this mean Steve and Cath move in together…and make beautiful love in the morning sun ;)

    Evidently Alex is still planning to participate in the Tough Mudder competition in September. Is that why CBS is sort of waffling about doing Sunset on the Beach this year?

      I wouldn’t think Alex’s participation in Tough Mudder is the reason for the lack of annoucement in regards to SOTB. I’d heard CBS weren’t letting him participate in Tough Mudder anyway?

      I think the SOTB issue is a whole other kettle of fish that has nothing to do with TM.

    Just listened to commentary of Season 2.1 on the new dvd. Alex’s accent gives me chills! Kept replaying parts of it. Especially his talking about their relationship in the car scene and he says “and I’m in love with Scott”!

      I’m really looking forward to getting the dvd on Monday (then new season Tuesday!). It’s a shame Scott couldn’t be part of the commentary. He was probably still in his play.
