‘Cus all y’all wanna talk about that time he wore long johns and behaved like a super freak while wearing glasses and stabbing people and eating sandwich. Or something.
Have a go at it!

I’ve always been an on-again, off-again watcher of Criminal Minds. Sometimes it scares me too much to watch. First time I evah watched this ep, the first time it aired, I only knew that CBS kept advertising “The Return of Alex O’Loughlin.” Since I hadn’t been a Moonlight fan at the time, I didn’t understand what the big deal was. I was like, WTF? Who cares? I watched the episode and was still like, WTF? Bread as first aid for bullet hole? WTF?I’ve since re-watched, and have better appreciation of Alex’s acting as Vincent, but I still have guilt pains over my first memories of watching it and not caring about CBS’ v v special guest star of the week. True.Story.
I still feel v v guilty about my first reaction to watching “Big Wheel.” I now have even more guilt and it’s now mixed with l-u-s-t.
Why am I obsessing over Vincent’s towel? http://www.alexoloughlinfan.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pid=13249&fullsize=1
I am total perv. For.Real.
Andre3a: You are not a perv. you are just a normal red blooded female who appreciates the male body. (AOL really wears his skin well) WJ
I was hunting for The FOY under the towel….Anyone else???
WJ: Thanks for reassurance. It just makes me feel like a perv to find serial killer characters (i.e. Dexter) on TV hot. For.the.love.of.g.d why did CM wardrobe persons decide that Vincent had to wear baggy longjohns and baggy undershirt to cover up the tats and hot bod?
Andr3a: had to get my nose print off TV, got to close hunting for The FOY. CM put baggy longjohns and baggy undershirt on Vincent because they did not feel it was proper for someone to find a serial killer hot True Story!
Vincent’s issues with touch & hygiene make tattoos highly unlikely.
Junk Kicker kills me every time I read it. EVERY.TIME.
I keep reading “Junk Licker.” Don’t go there with me…… ;D
I’ve already been there. I have to remember it says “KICKER” with a K every time I read it. Makes it all the more funny!!
Yeah I love our sardonic nicknames! PButtercup!!! Kickin Junk for the FUCUPs is what. I. Do. ;D
OK I finally gave the towel pic its due and THERE IS A FOY BULGE IN THE TOWEL, you really should have LEAD WITH THAT FACT Andr3a! You don’t even need to look that hard PUN INTENDED.
God I need to sit down and repeat “I will not perv out over a serial killer” about a million times. This is bad. Bad!
You have a condition called FOYITIS as in addicted to as we all are, and he doesn’t look like a serial killer here.
You are not a perv. Its just that the FOY is trying to escape.
If u look at his imdb resume this was during a period that CBS had him under contract but sadly he didn’t work in a while.
how did I not know this page was here? Thanks Andr3a for posting or I never would have seen it!
I have watched from episode 1 of Criminal Minds and this episode always stood out to me as their best ever. And yeah, I had no friggin clue who this Alex O’Loughlin guy was. This is how I can say for sure that as much as I love his Handsome Devil good looks, I first fell in love with his acting.
Holy hell. I loved this episode. The relationship between him and the boy still haunts me. I mean, he fk’d that kid up royally. Also, how awesome was that kid? I wish he’d do H50, seriously. He could be Gracie’s first boyfriend or something. That would be hilarious!
My only beef is that Alex & Shemar didn’t get to share a scene. Rawrr!! Oh M, can you imagine if they were as.mashing each other? OMFG!!
Loved Penelope’s joke about him not being a good date. “Too stabby”. LMAO!
Anyone besides me think Vincent was going to toss the kid off the ferris wheel when he asked him, “Remember when you said you wish he had killed you?” I was like NOOOOOOOO!!!
There is a behind the scenes video on youtube and one of teh producers I think says that when Alex was on set no one would go home. Everyone stood around and watched the monitors. He said that’s when you know you have something special. I couldn’t agree more. For a show that sometimes is too gory, too dark and twisted, this episode haunts me in a good way. No gross (sorry the bread thing is wierd but doesn’t gross me out), no goriness, just very psychological. Everytime I watch it I wonder what that kids life is like now. How fkd up is he? that’s when a TV show gets to you.
I think that this page just appeared. You know how M likes to pre-date things….
Yes. I just created it today at lunch because Ess said in a comment that she would love to discuss this.
xxo
Way to go M, April Fools Day. LOL
Heh! Never even thought of that
Thank you M!! I thought it was up since April and I had missed a big memo. LOL. *hugsie* you are too good to us. And when I say us I mean me. Because I am Princess Buttercup. (ask WJ)
xxoxxoxxo
Tis true M you are Queen M and Ess is Princess Buttercup because you are both royality! True Story!
It been a while I saw this, have to try watch it again. I remember Alex portraying his caracter´s odd behavior quite good. He definately showed his fans ones more his acting skills, there´s nothing he couldn´t “sell” us. He really should be cast in big movies, for the rest of the world to see his talent. Somehow this H50 might not be good for his acting career. But I sure will enjoy it while it lasts
I think if more people could see how good Alex was in this episode maybe just maybe they would realize what a good actor he is. I read somewhere that he was a little OCD so maybe he was able to pull from his experiences.
He has both OCD and ADD. It was upon reading the following article that really made me want to a.s smash my countries some times useless education system http://www.gq.com.au/life/people/alex+oloughlin,11009
Here is a link to the episode if you want to watch it.
http://h50bamf.tumblr.com/post/11996976412
Paula, you are right. I love McG fiercely but it does not showcase his range. Or it didn’t in S1. I think S2 has been much better for him. But even so, seeing what he can do with other roles, I still wish to see him do more things. He is so very talented and if people only see him in H50, they just won’t get the real scope of his talent. Sad.True.Story.
Thanks for the link Ess, I will rewatch and come back and comment as I don’t really remember this episode. This is not a refelction on the episode itself, just another case of my memory failing me.
“The Big Wheel” episode of Criminal Minds was excellent! Alex was incredible as Vincent, the OCD serial killer with a heart. The episode was a departure for CM, in that it focused on the killer from the start. This is the type of guest starring roles that should be given attention when it comes to Emmy nominations, instead they focus on older actors who do guest spots. Alex’s performance was Emmy-nomination worthy. If you are an Alex fan, you need to search out and find his past performance gems and this episode of CM is definitely one of them.
It was for truth and Emmy worthy turn! Especially when you see some of the crappy guest spots that get nomineed. But then we know it’s mostly a popularity contest anyway. That’s why I get bored with the whole awards thing.
Ironically, this was one of the few CM epiosodes I’ve ever watched, and it was before I knew who AOL was too. He totally creeped me out – and I SO thought that he was going to push the kid off at the end…. He was v v good as Vincent. And – this reinforces what I have said all along about Alex – he has this ability to change his looks from show to show – even when I realized it was him in this episode, after I had become obsessed w/all things Alex, I still find it hard to believe its the same person. Yes, it looks like him, but they have toned down the “Unmfff”.
You’re obsessed? Say it ain’t so!! lol (right behind you…or maybe in front)
How hard was it to turn down the Unmmmf do you think? Did they think putting him in thermals would do it? The glasses? The hair?
Not McG watched this with me and he goes, “That’s McGarrett isn’t it? He looks smaller here.” I was like huH? because I’m just thinking heavier but he’s talking muscular. Once again, “man crush”.
Yeah, smaller! what he did with his posture in this ep was f.ckin incredible!
OK, just watched it (thank you ESS for the link). Never seen a single ep of Criminal Minds, just watched it for Alex. He was perfect as the OCD serial killer with a heart, seriously creepy but making me end up feeling sorry for him.
2/3 of the way through it, NotMcG came downstairs wearing THE EXACT SAME GLASSES and it took conscious effort to not run away screaming.
Did he have a steak knife up his sleeves? Maybe the glasses can stay, but short sleeves only, no overcoats in the house.
That’s why I had to quit watching CM, I kept freaking out everytime the damn doorbell rang! Home invasions really aren’t that commonplace, but shows like that can make you think they are!
No steak knife, black fleece pajamas. Still creepy, though. Didn’t help that he has a longish face like Alex…
I had to stop watching CM -too much scary so this is the first time I’ve ever seen this episode. And besides H50 & the pilot of 3R the only stuff I’ve ever seen AOL act in. I’m the worst. Anyway.
For sure deserved an Emmy nom for that performance. What an amazing episode all around. I liked all the bit players too, the police woman, poor Alice, they were great. Adoptive mom was kind of annoying but that kid. What can you say about that kid? Amazing performance. Ok enough of that. Not who we’re here to talk about.
Alex’s face. He really can make it do a lot of different things, can’t he? Like, it’s above & beyond what most other actors do with their faces, even when they are *acting,* even if they are amazing actors. And it’s not like he had any weird make up or prosthetics to change his appearance. I’ve never seen anything like that before. So it was impressive in this Big Wheel ep. So it’s like he has two skills – one is good acting, which lots of people in tv or movies can do and two is making his face/body physically change in ways that are amazing but are not “acting” they are “being.” Am I making any sense?
I can’t wait to see his “I am now pantsless” face and then his “I am AAAAAfafafalalalalalalala la la la face”.
Stephanie, if Andr3a won’t marry you, I WILL!! You said everything i feel, just much more eloquently. Someone asked me before what my fave Alex role was and I always come back to this one. It was understated perfection for all the reasons you said. You have now seen what he can do when the WRITING is there. I love as.mashing McGarrett but I love it when he has the opportunity to ‘act’ even more.
Ayaku – I am torn about feeling sorry for him. I think it’s wonderful that he had a change of heart and really gave the boy someone to believe in and trust. But in the end the boy found out he really was. Every time I feel sympathy for Vincent, I think about how FK’d in the head that kid has to be. He loved Vincent so.
PS I loved when that chick was hitting on him and he was totally oblivious. Much like my beloved McG….from S1…*sigh*
Ess! Our minds are as one. It is Destiny!!
AOL has pulled some great faces (and shown great acting ability!) as McG but obviously we have only seen a minute fraction of what he’s capable of. Not sure how much of his true range H50 can explore unless McG has an evil twin (The Anti-McG?) who returns to Oahu & McG has to hunt him down & stop him. He dies in his own arms. Oh my goodness. I think I just gave myself a stroke visualizing that.
DYING!!
Hey! Maybe that’s the BIG SECRET Daddy McG was hiding! He had already sent one baby McGarrett off! The anti-Mcg! And his name was Burberry, or whatever the hell that name was. (Plot? What plot?) OMG can you imagine Danny’s fit when he finds out there are TWO of them??? WRITERS CALL HER!!
Also, testing out new Gravatar & name since it is a KOALA and never showed my Roo.
Burberry McGarrett was shipped off to Sydney after his birth (why we do not know!) and was raised by a wealthy crime family. Upon his return, he sashays all over Honolulu twirling his mustache (metaphorically) and being this fabulous bad ass and general embarrassment to McG. He’ll be a classy high end art thief International Man of Mystery-style who quotes shakespeare or French philosophy at crime scenes. Just to get on McG’s nerves. He’ll kidnap Danny just for laughs (though they will get along great). He’ll buy every pair of cargo pants in Hawaii and hide them, just to be mean. But thanks to him, we will achieve
McG pantslessness. Eventually, he will elope with LoHo (this is the Y of LoHo) to a private island off the coast of Tasmania, never to be heard from again.
Or will he..?
Bril.Liant.
OMG I have just DIED a thousand deaths!
The entire household (notMcG, owner of never-to-be-the-FOY if-I-can-help-it and the Mini-Me) just looked at me funny for laughing out loud.
Steph: Could the evil twin speak in Aussie accent? Please!
And wear black frame glasses? And circle things twice?
FUUUUU*K YEAH!! The evil twin was raised in Austrailia! I mean, who would look for him there?? In fact, he was raised by a bunch of wild KOALAS because they are evil personified. Handsome (D)Evil McG will come to Hawaii and try to rip McPanty Destroyer’s cargos to shreds. He will be pantsless and evil will win out over good, or does it? Oh this opens up so many possibilities. So.many.possibilities.
Princess: Tell me he will take LoHo down under with him, never to be heard from again. Good for us, bad for Australia. Maybe he could take her to Outer Mongolia.
LOL!! Outer Mongolia! I was much nicer to LoHo since she probably looks nice in a bikini and could really use a tan.
Tasmania would be the very LAST place in Oz for LoHo to work on her tan, believe me !
Are we dissing Australia? Do I need to get patriotic? Oh wait Westy and I are trying to get deported. Diss away.
She might get frost bite in Tasmania, but no, no tan.
Hey Oz Immigration peeps…Gracie and I just want to inform you of the following:
We.love.soccer
(That ought to do it, Gracie)
HAWAII here we come!
I just spent the morning researching Tasmanian weather. Sounds lovely, actually. But not warm, like I dumbly assumed!
LOL! Anti McG would achieve pantslessness one way or another! Our minds really are one.
OH EM GEE, had another thought. If they are identical twins, then there are 2 FOYS!
One for good and one for evil…
ESS. You keep talking like that it is not convincing me to not share the Continuing Adventures of Burberry McGarrett which I have Absolutely Not Written on my iphone in my spare time waiting in lines at stores and things. *sigh* Burberry McGarrett (and his FOY-for-evil) is CLASSIFIED.
Until I decide to unclassify it. Which may be soon, who knows.
***SWEET*** I think… so many ‘nots’ in there I’m not sure whether I really read what you said…or not.
I, for one, can not wait for Steph to not share Evil Burberry’s adventures. TWO FOYS?!? *fanning myself*
Stand in more lines Steph! Hurry!
Stephanie, I love your comments. {Air hearts} His. face. Oh. Em. Gee. His. beautiful. expressive. face.
Ess: I feel that since the boy was blind he saw into Vincent’s heart. Wish they would get some of the writers from this show to work on H50!
You could be right. Maybe there was redemption in Vincent. It took the ‘eyes’ of a blind child to see his heart. When he says “forgive me” at the end, it kicks me in the heart every time.
CM is a very well written show. Tight stories and even has it’s own humor and bromance. Though the humor & bromance aren’t as good as H50. A most excellent cast.
Hey Princess: that Gravatar is one beautiful speciman even though your
Roo is cute. I tweeted PLenkov asking if he was going to write an episode soon, he may not answer but he has before. I hope at least he takes the hint. If he doesn’t like the way storyline is going he can push in another direction!
I for sure think there was redemption. He acknowledged he had done bad things and knew he needed help to stop being bad. Yeah, the “forgive me” I gasped out loud, that was so perfectly done. Heartbreaking.
WTF – are you all trying to make me lose my mind? Every day a FUCUP changes their name. I am so confoozled.
I am starting to agree that we should all be “Bob”
I might need to start a page where all you c.nts place your bazillion names, your given nicknames, and your twitter aliases.
Give me a day or so to figure my sh.t out.
LOVE you and your multiple personalities.
xxoxxoxxo
Hey I gave you a heads up.
Even I’m confused as to the name changes, WTH did I miss???
As requested, I rewatched this ep of CM. Def agree that when given some great writing AOL more than steps up to the challenge. Not that h50 doesn’t have good writing. I’m also glad that h50 isn’t like this every week because wow, then I’d be emo all the time.
The kid breaks my heart, he is so trusting of Vincent and so perseptive, when he says to him “you know if you step on them (the cracks) nothing bad will happen to you,” wow, just wow. Vincent would have royally frakked the kid up for sure. Imagine having to explain it all to him when he asks what happened to my friend Vincent? Oy vey.
The bread scene still freaks me out but not enough any more that Vegemite on toast won’t be what I eat for breakfast tomorrow morning.
The episode was also an interesting insight into what it can be like for some people with OCD. There’s a whole heap of stuff that we take no notice of, yet can be such a challenge for some of us out there.
Ultimately, I think there is sympathy for the Vincent character, because he like Stanley was subject to something so horrific as a child. Some times he is almost child like, if you ask me.
I barely even notice if Alex look’s hot or not in this episode, I’m too drawn in to the show itself. Well, just his parts. Everything else was a bit whatever, this show has so many people on it, how do they fit any character based stories in? And hey that’s that dude from Dharma and Greg.
“I barely even notice if Alex look’s hot or not in this episode…”
You are such a freak.
M, you watched this didn’t you? What did you think?
I did!
I loved it; I think he did a brilliant job — and I am entirely a sucker for a man in horn-rimmed glasses. Serial killer or otherwise
M, that was my way of trying to win back some FUCUP street cred and saying I was actually watching the acting and paying attention to the storyline.
In that BTS video I saw Alex specifically says it was important to play someone with redemtion so I guess that answered my earlier question.
Yep, that’s Greg! I had a hard time taking him seriously at first. Same as I couldn’t take Mandy Patinkin seriously at first (he left the season or 2 before Alex’s guest role) But they both won me over. Which is what can happen when the writing is there. HERE ME WRITERS?? But um, actually they do work alot of great character stuff in, even with that many people on the show. Much better than H50 writers do for just the main 4. Sad, really. CM is an excellently written show. They do a great job of intertwining the character stuff with the crime of the week. Interestingly enough, 2 yrs ago they screwed over 2 of the main characters and fired them from the show. The outcry was so bad, they brought both back this year. Never underestimate the power of the fans…
Sheila loves CM. I will leave the CM watching to her, until some other actor I’m crushing on is in a random episode. Then I’m there.
I did hear about those actors getting the boot and the network hiring them back. I know a lot of Stargate fans (myself included) are blamed for the demise of that show. Fans can be powerful and a great ally, they can also be mean and petty, to writers etc and to each other.

Wow, I’ve just watched this, having never seen an episode of Criminal Minds or AOL in anything other than H50. I was really impressed with how different he was. Even in the first 20 mins or so when he hardly speaks his demeanour is so different. I really liked the show and the writing and acting from the others and might look out for it. McG obviously got his wound packing techniques from this show.
I’ve never seen it, but Criminal Minds is on megaloop on one of the obscure cable channels and I notice that this episode is scheduled for June 3, so I’ve set the DVR!
Just watched it. Never seen Criminal Minds and can’t say that it’s going to enter my repertoire, but this episode was really good. Alex blew me away – I love psychopathic Alex! And he did an amazing job of making the audience sympathize with him in the end. I actually had tears in my eyes and I only knew Vincent and Stanley for less than an hour. Very glad that I got to see this.
This episode was very unusual for CM in the amount of time spent with the criminal (ouch, it hurts me to refer to Vincent like that). Usually it’s mostly the team on the hunt for the baddie, running down clues, etc. Isn’t it an amazing performance, though? I just really think it’s wonderful. Glad you got to see it too! Wow, reading through the comments here what a trip! This is where B McG was born!
Also never watched a CM before, and probs won’t again, but of course figured to check this one out. I could see him easily as Vincent, was not like I couldn’t get past the McG-ness of watching AOL, the McG strut totally gone in that sort of hunched over walk. the usual confidence was not there at all. Yes, those facial expressions as well. He obviously was losing it at the end when he uses bread for a non nutritional function but he also drank milk straight from the carton. no kidding, but I have to belive that he never did that before. That would not be in line with the OCD actions at all.
For those of you who really study these shows, explain to me how the kid changed Vincent or opened his eyes. Vincent was still killing after he met the kid – even more so near the end! *spoiler alert* And if a person watches his mother die, I would think he would spend the rest of his life killing the guy who did it over and over, not killing his mom over and over.
The OCD effect on anyone who has it….how that must affect their entire lives! Michael J Fox did a turn on Scrubs once in a character with that problem, even as a surgeon . Painful to watch. And Infant, I still did notice some moments of hotness even with the creepy killer stuff going on, it’s like I don’t know you at all when you say you didn’t notice it.
And yes I thought the kid was goin’ for a swan dive too. Reading this page first did not ruin the ep, as usual it gave me more things to look for…..like the towel scene! Thanks ya’ll.
I am really not of sane mind anymore…..I gave you two comments as answers, but did not type it in as replies…….Please find them below….
- explain to me how the kid changed Vincent or opened his eyes
* He asked for help – something totally out of line for that kind of killer.
* They did say that he became less aggressive – he used to stab the women repeatedly and know he only stabbed them once to kill.
* If I remember correctly the frequency of his killings also slowed down. He only stabbed that last blond woman (where he ased for the help), after he heard that the boy and his mother were moving.
* And the last one was random, because she recognised him…he didn’t really mean too or want to kill her…he also wrapped her up nicely out of remorse…..
I get it, he did used to stab over and over and at the end it was just one stab, and he did ask for help. I guess that counts.
SPOILER ALERT….
And if a person watches his mother die, I would think he would spend the rest of his life killing the guy who did it over and over, not killing his mom over and over.
He never gave that video to anyone….he lived with his killer father for some years onwards after that. (It was his father that killed his mother and he kept it quiet all those years – a very heavy burden for a child to carry)
In a sense he became his father – bad like daddy was!
I’ll have to rewatch, can’t remember all that detail so clearly any more……
I did understand that it was his dad, and the video was just his to watch, and now I get that in effect he became his dad. Thanks.
“.he lived with his killer father for some years onwards after that.”
I just watched it today and I appologise for getting it wrong here….it was known that his dad murdered his mother
Hi ladies!
Love that you’re still having fun.
Two questions:
1) Anyone need a new page?
2) Has anyone heard from Gramma McMo?
xoxoxo momma
This is HOME. We always check here first, to see if anybody’s been around…
I had some eps. I needed to comment on, even though it was the sounds of crickets that mostly heard it. Have not heard from Mc Mo. She is not a tweeter where we see some action from many of the fucups, so maybe we”ll see her again if/when you recap in the fall. Maybe her neighbors stopped paying for the wifi and she has lost access. LOL.
